Tonight's game was the first all season I was home for and didn't watch a pitch.

This season has turned to complete rat shit and I think for once the post had it right on Monday...we had such good outings from our starters up to ASB that it papered over the cracks and deficiencies. Now Santana is on dl , dickey has cooled it places pressures on a ball club that isnt that good.

Bay is a waste of space , Davis has been spotty at best , Duda is obsessed with hitting it out of park and our overall fielding has been poor due to square pegs in round holes

This all comes back to the pre season and our austerity bill that is in place at Citi field...Moneyball was a one off thing that worked...every team does it in a way but you still have to pay the money when needed..we seem obsessed with repair and rework jobs.....sooner or later it catches up

I was thinking this same thing. It's beyond perfect timing.

I turned it on just in time to see the Mets get blown out again in extra innings at home.

It is amazing how it all turned to shit so fast. They had that great win against the Phillies and then dropped 2 of 3 to the turd-ass Cubbies. Then the All Star break came and it has been a disgrace ever since. Three of those losses were of the worst variety- wild pitch to end one game and consecutive extra inning blowouts at home. I have little tolerance for losing an extra innings game at home. Then to do it twice on consecutive days and get destroyed in the final inning of both games? Yikes.

3rd team since 1900 to lose back-to-back extra inning games by 5 or more runs.

Getting crushed tonight, 1 hit. It's close to being 2 weeks since the ASB and they have 1 win. Wow.

You know how bad things have become when Darling and Cohen are talking excitedly about the possibility of Francisco being back by Sunday.

Dickey continues to go down. In his last 7 appearances (6 starts) he has a 5.36 ERA and 1.388 WHIP.

I get to see Hefner vs. Strasburg tomorrow. Not too much of an overmatch there.

This is depressing. I remember there was a time I thought Dickey was gonna be a cy young candidate.

...at least they gave us hope for 2 months.....

Anyway can we please just get Jason Bay off this team and into AAA or the Witness Protection Scheme..he is everything i hated about Omar...a shining turd of an example of overpaying for below average talent.

Byrdak brought in to face lefties Harper and LaRoche. He walks Harper and then gives up a two run homer to LaRoche.

Byrdak should be outrighted to a chicken farm in Kentucky.

    Strasburg dominant - check.
Decent starting pitching performance wasted - check.
Poor defense leads to unearned run - check.
Reliever comes in and immediately puts game out of reach - check.

Yep, my time at Citi Field today was everything I expected. At least it was a very nice day for a game, and the Nathan's hot dogs were delicious. We (my father, my wife, and I) had a very nice time, except of course for that one little detail of the game.

At this point in the season the least important part of going to a game is the outcome!

Right now I feel like the Mets will never win another game. Hey Mr. Givemethelefty being clubhouse clown isn't acceptable when you suck.

Pretty good start for Harvey - Mets score 2 in the top of the 1st, he gets 2 Ks in the bottom of the 1st, and a double in his first major league at bat in the top of the 2nd.
