I grew up in Miami as a die-hard dolphin fan. Graduated from UF. Tebow has me rooting for the J,E,T,S, its mind-boggling and hard to comprehend for many. Free agency changed the game, regional tie-ins just aren't nearly as strong due to free-agency. Players constantly change teams, in the end you are just rooting for Uniforms. I say screw all that~TEBOW!
I bleed Gator orange and blue. The Jets happen to have one of our favorite high impact players on their roster, so I'm here. The question isn't whether I'm good enough to be a Jets fan, it is whether the Jets are good enough for me to want to be a fan. This football season must unfold for me to know enough about the Jets to decide. To date, I'm encouraged Tim's teammates and his bosses believe Tim is an asset. The 'Tebow sucks' Jets fans have me wanting Tim to be on a different team, particularily a team the Jets play in regular season.
*whew* You hadn't said anything negative about Tebow in a few hours man. I got worried about you. Glad you're ok..
At this point, I couldn't care less if a monkey is the QB, I just want a SB victory. Not too much of a Tebow supporter though. I will cheer for him as long as he wears the green and white though. Once he is gone, he is just a dead memory around here, unless he does something great of course.
Keep rooting against a player on your team. It's awesome to watch and will be very rewarding when you go hide when the season starts and Tebow helps the Jets win games. I can't wait to see you back pedal. And buddy, trust me......it ALWAYS happens to cult members like yourself ...
I assume when Tebow leaves his flock will follow. I know several people who are not football fans but are Tebow fans. Ok, it's cool if you root for somebody just because you like their outlook on life. However, if you never watched football before Tebow joined the NFL and don't really follow, you have no basis for arguing Tebow is a legend or among the best.
And what of those of us who have followed college football for 30+ years and have been "casual fans" of the NFL for years ? Do we have a basis for arguing that Tebow is indeed a legend and among the best ever, as far as college players are concerned ?
I am more of a casual fan than a die-hard Jet fan by now. I am more interested in X's and O's - i almost always prefer aggressive styles, so it was easy to pick Ryan defense for that breed. On offense, you could define "aggressive" in various ways, but in my book, aggressive offensive football remains hard-nosed smashmouth football, where the offense will pound upon the defense until the defense waves white flag. *Yeah... that's me...* So... how does Tebow change the scenery? Not much. I can't care less if he gets traded away either - well, I will, if trading him away nets 3rd rounder or higher. (Which is a slim chance at best)
There should be an option. If Tebow plays the rest of his career as a jet will you stay a Jet fan...absolutely
Ridiculous statement. Every popular athlete has non-sports related followers. Every single one. That does not mean that all people who think he is good fall into this category. There is also no requirement for watching a certain amount of football before you can be accepted into the club of "real fans". Elitist bullshit.
Yeah,,,I know. I needed to be reminded, thanks. Now it will be easier to get back in my 'the Jets will kick your ass' frame of mind.
I had to respond that I would leave. Being a Denver fan and Tebow hater, I just had to see how the outspoken and passionate Jets fans would react to the Tebots. Why a hater? I didn't get the Tebots and when Tebow didn't support his coaches or Orton, I classified him a fraud.
There is no evidence to support your claim. In fact, the opposite is true. Tebow supported Orton and the coaches. Orton and the coaches did not support Tebow.
No elitism. It's just stupid to talk about something you don't know anything about like you're an expert. It would be like somebody looking at a car, deciding they like the exterior and then walking around like they are an expert in that car. You wouldn't take that person seriously, either.
They didn't support bringing a third string QB to take over? Imagine that. :rofl2: When did Tebow support Orton?
