To Revis is your daddy (since I don't see the quote option, guessing it's because of my low post count) I think Luke McCown being a terrible Qb played into it than the defense being that much great over a good team IMO. 2 of his interceptions were into triple coverage, something any Qb shouldn't do. And I believe Cromartie returned one to like the one yard line, and we had another interception at their 20 too. While the defense played great, you have to figure that even Gabbert in his second year would be better than McCown. I'm not saying watch out for them, they are a surprise team or anything, but there were 3 passes I believe that Sanchez threw that were dropped by the Jag's DBs. And he had 2 INT's on the game anyway. I think with Gabbert possibly improving, I think they will be a better team than they showed last year. I just hate penciling in victories, always seems to bite us in the end. Our team should be better this year, but I'm just reluctant to say that there are easy games on the schedule.
Jags left a bad taste in my mouth last time we played them and MJD kneeled down on the ground right before the endzone and nobody on the defense thought to just knock the ball out of his hands
The only fans smoking more crack than Jets fans: Bills fans. I don't hate the Bills like I hate the Fins and Pats. Probably because Bruce Smith was a Va Tech guy, like me. I even like their Gailey, Dareus, Fitz, and Freddy J. HOWEVER, I can't even imagine the Bills doing better than 9-7. That's the best they can do if every ball bounces their way all season. And to the guy who thinks Mario Williams is going to play lights out in his first game to prove he deserves his big contract...........I can't even imagine how your mind works. I can't remember thinking any free agent signed by any team would play great in his first game.
Anyone else catch how much of a moron Catt County is? clearly he knows nothing about football more than what madden has taught him if he thinks that a team would move an offensive lineman to the other side of the line for one game. God......its one thing when people talk shit when they know what they were talking about but this is ridiculous.
After reading this entire thread I gotta hand it to the Bills fans, they will defend that team to the end of the earth. I still think they will get swept. My opinion of course, but only time will tell.
If Mario gets injured in Week One, or Week Two, there are going to be a lot of bodies, wearing Thurman Thomas jerseys, floating in Lake Erie.
of the jets 13 or 14 wins this season, at least half will be easy wins.... jagwires, colts, bills twice, dolphins, cardinals and seahawks for starters
I wonder how many opposing fans look at playing the Jets as an easy win or soft game on the schedule ? I learned a long time ago that there are no easy wins or gimmee games .
I believe that is what Schottenheimer did with D'Brick when the Jets faced the Texans in 2009 or 2010. I believe it was discussed on this very MB as a big reason why Jets fans weren't afraid of the Bills acquiring Mario Williams. Notice, I didn't think it would happen. I don't think Sparano is an innovative enough coach to think of something like that, and anyways, Wayne Hunter certainly isn't good enough to make the move. It's much more likely that Sparano will hope that Keller or one of the other TEs can chip, because the interior of the OL is going to have their hands full with Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus.
Hardly. Unlike Jets fans, most Bills fans are mentally tough. More importantly, nobody in WNY commits suicide by jumping into Lake Erie since it's pretty shallow along the shore line. The Niagara River is much deeper, with a faster current, and a waterfall downstream.
No one knows what the NFL season will bring. Sometimes teams who sucked last year are really good this year and vice versa.
Leon said it perfectly above. There are no guarantees in the NFL. No one expected the Bengals to be good last year. Certainly no one thought the 49ers would be so dominant defensively, and the "Dream Team" in Philadelphia didn't come close to living up to the hype.
Exactly. Most seasons have 4-6 (or some rather high number like that) playoff teams that didn't make the playoffs the year before which means that an equal number of playoff teams from the year before didn't make the playoffs in the current season.
Nobody, even when it was announced that Peyton wouldn't play, ever thought that Indy would be as bad as they were last season. What did they win? 2 games?
The Jets will be lucky to escape their first 5 games with 2 wins and the same QB they opened the season with, and they will still have to face the Pats twice. That's 5 losses right there.
So lets see. Jets say Sanchez was banged up at the end of last year and that lead to his poor play and Bills fans say no excuses. Then Bills fans say Fitzgerald and messed up ribs which is why he played awful for half a season+. Besides its how you finish a season not start it. If you want to be a playoff team games like the Bills at home are games you win. At dolphins and Colts as well. @ Pitt I see us losing and Texans at home/49ers at home is real tough too but splitting that and winning the 2 they should means 3-2 to start the season. Not that bad.
