http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8...aints-skip-training-camp-contract-sources-say Now I just wanna know, since he got so much love from ESPN and the media last year for organizing team workouts during the lockout are they going to bash him for this?
In all likelihood it won't be a Superbowl season with all the issues they have, so why risk injury on a 1 year deal for that?
This. The injury in SD could've been disastrous for him and this contract here will be the last and most lucrative one he signs in all likelihood
Brees knows he has NO by the balls right now. For his financial sake, the bounty thing couldnt have come down at a better time. NO needs positive publicity, so they will eventually cave. He just needs to wait them out, and he can get pretty much whatever he wants.
New Orleans will fold, from what I understand if monday passes then Brees cant get a new contract and will have to work under his franchise tender. So that means Brees wont have to play until week 10 where he starts to get penalized and loses rights. If monday passes, then Brees has no real reason to start playing until week 10.
Brees has been offered the richest contract in NFL history but has turned it down. He better not break a leg in the offseason cuz he will regret this.
Then that means he gives into the Saints, but the way I see it right now, he IS NOT giving in. All signs indicate Brees's camp is not folding.
I sure hope he plays. Remember how bad last year was without Manning and having the Colts in primetime so many times? I dont want to see that again.....
Brees is being a little bit of a bitch here IMO. Especially if the rumors that he's been offered the highest contract in league history are true.
