Yup, and that's why the last paragraph reads like it does. If Revis does hold out next year it's really bad, because that means he has a man-crush on the Jets that won't be satisfied by anything other than the biggest engagement ring in NFL history. Romances of that sort generally end badly, often with one or the other of the participants stalked, harrassed and sometimes worse.
The fact that Klecko isn't in the Hall is a joke. And Revis is not the Best Defensive Player in the NFL by Miles. Guy has never ever even won a DPOY Award. Now he did deserve it the year Woodson won it, but there are plenty of very good Defensive Players in the NFL.
Maybe he is not the best defensive player in the NFL, but he sure has the greatest margin between best player at their position and second best player at their position.
Revis is "the man" Revis is "the best" so far, last year he got torched. No way would I trade a Kobe, or Jordan, or Labron for a wannabee. I love the NYJ's and if you got "issues" with a watered down version thinking the more is merryier then you "got issues" I can't help with. See a shrink, I do, I like winning, you got a problem with that. FCS! You put it out there, deal with it. REVIS CHRIST FOR PRESIDENT!
http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/13166/revis-its-all-up-to-jets-gm so, how do you spin this to make Revis look good?
While I question the integrity of any Cimini posting, in regards to the potential out-of-context quote, while the hell does Revis even answer ANY of these contract / holdout type questions. They're ALL fishing for a potentially controversial story. If he had any sense, he would just say "no comment" or at least "I don't talk about contract issues, that's my agent's job" or the like...... and squash the whole thing.
The biggest mistake the FO made was signing Holmes to a big contract. Holmes showed his true colors last season quitting on the team. Holmes should have stepped up big as a leader and made the most out of every play and opportunity he had, regardless of how shitty the OC, QB were or how tough the opposing defense was. Revis plays ball on every down. That is the kind of player I would lock up. DEFENSE & GROUND 'N POUND
My take is that this is what his agents have instructed him to do. They all know damn well they aren't getting any money out of the Jets this year, but NEXT year is what they're trying to setup. They're putting pressure on the Jets front office early.
No news here...Revis hasn't changed his stance and neither have the Jets so far. He's not unhappy, but just wants the Jets to look in to his contract again, meaning, he really wants to hold out and hold the club ransom, but due to the contract structure, he will be shooting himself in the foot (ala Burress? No.) if he holds out.
I wouldn't be surprised if Revis' agents put him up to it or even paid him to do it. Agents: Hey Rich - if you ask Revis about his contract I'm sure you'll get an answer you can run with a story on all offseason when their is not much football news.
Lets bash our best player and the NFLs best CB................. Until he actually holds out this is all wrong.
What the matter? Not once has Revis said that he'll be participating in voluntary workouts. Something tells me he's not happy but is forced...
No offense to you or anyone but hindsight 20/20 pretty much everyone here wanted Holmes back no matter what. Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk 2
lol ESPN is reporting that Revis is seeking a new deal That is based off of somebody asking him if he will report to training camp and he said "I don't know" strong reporting
