Sanchez and Tebow, Tebow and Sanchez.... fuck it! I'm sick of it... this TC I'll be rooting for McElroy. Tough guy, needed one NFL season to hit the gym full time and get stronger. Game manager and seems to have more "game-day" balls than Sanchez (doesn't need everyone to love him)... go Greg! PS wink wink, nudge nudge...
You saw these "game-day" balls when? In the preseason vs. future insurance salesmen? Maybe we can trade for Ratliff?
If I were into jerseys, and the Jets sold a McElroy one, I would get one. But then I would have wanted a Quincy Carter jersey, too. If I was into jerseys. McElroy. The future is now.
I get the skepticism, of course. But if both Sanchez and Tebow crash and burn, which is certainly possible, wouldn't it be awesome if, like some phoenix rising in the middle of Jetlife, McElroy came in and led the team to winning out their schedule? We can dream.
Unfortunately if we see McElroy this year it either means both Teacup and Sanchez failed or they are both injured - neither a good scenario. Brady might have never surfaced if not for one of our boys - Mo Lewis knocking out Drew Bledsoe. I know we were all happy at that moment but that happiness did'nt last all too long. Anyway if its in the cards and its gods will that McElroy becomes our starter and has a great career then somehow it will happen.
Why would we dream that and not dream of Mark Sanchez going 19-0. Seems like you have a personal vendetta against the man.
Why root for Sanchez and Tebow to fail before the season even starts???? What did we see from McElroy last season other than that he does come close to having an NFL arm and that he lacks the common sense to not talk about the locker room to the press.
I still can't believe as a third string QB, he had the balls to run his mouth to the press about issues in the locker room.
I really like McElroy. He is perhaps the smartest qb in the league and I hope he has a successful career. That being said, I hope to god that he doesn't get one snap this year.
Sanchez is dog shit. Tebow will win us a few games. Mcelroy is the QB of the future. Mark my words (no pun intended).
I don't see it. I saw the guy a lot in college. He's average. I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if he's ever more than a stop-gap or backup.
The only times I'll likely be cheering him on are: 1. Pre-season 2. If both Mark (not so likely) and Tebow (possible due to wildcat runs) go down injured, and then I hope he pulls a better version of a T.J. Yates for us. 3. If Mark proves to not be a franchise QB this year and the Jets don't draft an early rounder. 4. He jumps over to the Browns or Texans.
Don't be surprised if he not the 2nd string QB when the season starts. Tebow was the 3rd string QB when season started last season.
