My post was in response to a glass half full perspective. I was presenting counters that were also true of the supposed upgrades he was talking about.

I was not really saying that I think LT leaving would hurt, but that argument certainly could be made.

And I assume you are referring to other Dolphins fans, I cannot do anything about other peoples shifting opinions or double standards. I would appreciate it if you do not lump me in with other posters and judge me based on my posts.

The NFL is rigged that its basically about who has the best QB wins.

All the old nitty gritty tough stuff from the old age died with Goodell and this pansie ass bullshit.

Long as this is a QB run league, the Pats are a 12-14 win team.

Our team is built for the playoffs, theyre built for the regular season

To be fair they only made the superbowl this year because they had the biggest joke of a playoff schedule.

Playing the bad Broncos @ NE, then having an impotent Ravens team hand them the game.

The Jets are right now listed at 25/1 to win the superbowl. I thought 6/1 was rather high, but it's actually 12/1 for AFC championship. I recommend betting now while the odds are good. I tried to capitalize and bet on them winning the next superbowl right after the season ended and it was 20/1. With all that controversy I find it hard to believe that the odds have gotten worse for the Jets since then. Does that make any sense? Do people really think the Jets blew the draft that badly and that Tim Tebow will destroy the team?

No way the Jets are worse than 25 out of 32 teams in the NFL. I'd expect 16/1 at worst, considering we had a mediocre season, but it wasn't a BAD season. The odds are definitely in favor of betting.

To be fair, that is a stupid comment. The Broncos beat the Steelers and earned the trip to NE. The Ravens were clearly the 2nd best team in the AFC.

The Broncos beat a Steelers team that had the most important player on their team half crippled.

If those teams were equally healthy Steelers are beating them 90 out of 010 time.

And the Ravens completely handed them the game. The Ravens in the playoffs is like Lebron in the 4th quarter.

And the fact they went 13-3 and earned home field advantage. I hate the Pats too, but would we be bitching if the Jets has made the SB due to a "joke of a playoff schedule"?

The Ravens didn't hand them the game. Evans dropped that TD pass but he caught 4 passes all year so he was hardly a reliable guy.

And the kicker missed a kick to tie. It is not like they got completely outplayed

Actually it was their LT who retired. The Pats always find a way to make it work with their OL. I wouldn't be banking on this being something that holds them back.

In concerns to the WR thing, umm we had the #1 redzone last year, so say what you want but you cant guarentee an improvement. I hope our deep pass is better next year but we werent terrible last year in the redzone passing.

Interesting to see the effect of Manning on bets. Except for the Pats, nobody in AFC (according to the odds) has a better chance to make the SB.

Teams they feel have better chance than Jets to win SB:

    Green Bay Packers .......13/2
    New England Patriots ....13/2

    San Francisco 49ers 10/1

    Denver Broncos .... 14/1
    Houston Texans .... 14/1
    Philadelphia Eagles .. 14/1

    Baltimore Ravens .... 16/1
    Chicago Bears ... 16/1

    New Orleans Saints ... 18/1
    New York Giants ... 18/1

    Pittsburgh Steelers ... 18/1

    Dallas Cowboys ... 20/1
    Detroit Lions ... 20/1

    ===
From the AFC, I'd expect Pats/Steelers/Ravens/Broncos/Texans > Jets. Kinda surprised by some of the NFC teams they picked though. Think last season's record might not be viewed as a one-year blip by many non-Jet fans.

I don't know what they are basing those odds on. I don't think any rational football person would say the Broncos have a better chance of making the SB than the Texans, Ravens, or Steelers

  16. Yes, the Patriots have always found a way to make it work...with rocks in place like Light & Koppen. With those guys gone...does it continue?

TBH I cant even judge teams anymore. After the Giants won last year, its honestly impossible to tell which teams are actually Super Bowl ready and which teams are not.

On the offensive line, yes. They have a lot of depth there and it's probably the best player development position group on the team. Dante Scarnecchia, who has been around since the mid-80s, does a fantastic job working with their projects and they always seem to overcome injuries.

Solder projects to take Light's spot at LT, while Volmer, if healthy, will be on the right side. Light was a great player but Solder should do well. Marcus Cannon would be the first guy off the bench at tackle, and he is apparently fully recovered from Hodgkins, which took him from a high-round pick in 2011 to a 5th round steal.

The guards are a little more of a question mark with Mankins' injury. I think Brian Waters will come back for camp. They did resign Koppen, so if necessary he can play center and Dan Connolly can move to one of the guard spots.

The o-line is, I think, more about scheme than individual talent for the Patriots. They play well as a unit. It also helps that their TEs are all good blockers. Hernandez is respectable, and Gronk is like a third tackle out there.

Koppen is back, and they've played long stretches with Light out.

^It also helps when you have a QB that is great at beating the blitz. Makes the o-line look fantastic if teams are not wanting to blitz. Nothing against the Pats o-line. I'm speaking more to the greatness of Brady
