If i were a pats fan i too would be very concerned with the prospect of rex ryan having a very good interior pass rusher in the mix.
He's right though. These practices in shorts are really just teaching. Beat writers tweeting how many sacks Coples had is just to justify their own jobs. 10 years ago no one cared about mini camp or OTA's. We wont know anything about these guys until they start hitting(a big reason why coaches were so annoyed with the new CBA rules) Its impossible to evaluate a football player until they get the pads on.
Highly drafted skill players SHOULD stand out from the crowd no matter what they're wearing. And when players like Hill and Coples do stand out, for someone to say it's meaningless b/c they were wearing shorts is insane. That new kid from the Raiders beating Revis in the corner of the endzone for 6pts is NOT 'meaningless'. You know Revis was doing everything possible to prevent that catch but Schillings beat him plain and simple. To me? That's a huge positive.
Just out of curiosity, d-d-d-d-dierk, how can you call ME a dick, for pointing out a reality, when you are calling on strangers on a message board to DIE. Based on that alone, no one is a bigger dick than YOU! Do yourself a favor put me on ignore and change your medication. Its not working. If you seriously want to know what I think, then start acting like a man and rebut the things you don't agree with in my posts. FYI - Pats fans who are get wet because Chandler Jones beat an OT in a non-contact drill, or Tavon Wilson broke up pass are just as ludicrous as Jet fans doing the same thing with Coples. Its nice to hear positive things about the players you follow, but OTA's aren't any more of an indication of what kind of player they actually will be, any more than the combine.
Good point about Schillings, and you know there was plenty of contact going on down there too. Maybe he's ready to have a breakout season.
On d-line drills you can an can see how quick a player gets around the edge. By all accounts College is doing very well. This is a great sign
I think you missed the point. I never said you weren't correct. Misquitoes may be right, but they are still annoying.
He'll definitely be given every opportunity to make it and be playing on a solid defense, which never hurts. It's quite possible, I would say.
