Someone doesn't have a clue, but I don't know if it's Mike T. Please explain how the Jets were supposed to move him with that contract.
I'm not blaming the media or defending Holmes. I just want you to die. So I don't have to read anymore of your sniveling dickless Patriots homeristic views on a Jets message board. I know, I know, you used to coach a high school team, you have really great objective insight into the game that your are magnanimously blessing us with, blah, blah, blah. Just shut the fuck up and go away.
hahahaha, so let me get this straight, K-k-k-ken, you spend time on two (2) Jets boards? You really do need to kill yourself. Have you ever heard of girls? The internet is full of them. You should check it out.
haha, then how about these pictures? Pros for Africa (if I remember correctly, clowney introduced him to this group) Germany Trip we can see what we want to see and we can hear what we want to hear... let's wait for the season to start.
Which position has the most divas historically is not the same as saying "most WRs are divas". yes, it's true that the WR has the divas. BUT, you statement is attempting to establish it as some kind of norm. It would be like saying that since most serial killers are white males, therefore, most white males are serial killers. See what I'm getting at? I'll do it the easy way, Chris Carter, Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison. You kind of hit the point right on the head when you said "this competitiveness that is so passionate its borderline selfish" The problem occurs when that border line is crossed by a wide margin. It goes from being passionate and competitive to selfishness. Ocho was a headache, just not as bad of one as TO and Moss. And sure, they'll probably be HoF'ers, but where did that get the teams that they played for ?? And I'm questioning your contention of "usually". And my point is that yes, he is one of those isolated cases.
Scumbags? Putting aside whether NY or NE writers or wide receivers are better or worse than one another, this thread has me wondering if writers or wide receivers are generally worse scumbags. This requires more thought.

If a player quits on my team, he doesn't get the benefit of a doubt from me until he does something to prove that it isn't all about him. This little incident, which I will agree is overblown in the media, is still a point of concern. Could you imagine this kind of behavior from Jeter/Curtis Martin/Gary Carter? Holmes wasnt brought here to be an ambassador to the sport. he was brought in here to win games. when i see Holmes i see a potential top tier WR whos such a competitor he lets his will to succeed make him react in a less than desirable manner at times. most WR's are like this. do I think some of the stuff hes done is excusable? not really but in the same token you get stories like him wearing headphones turns into him becoming a Terrorist on a plane. Last year the whole team was in meltdown mode. naturally when the whole locker room is in disarray the person who will look like the biggest hothead is someone whos not used to incompetency and is used to being a contributor to a winning Franchise. the steelers dont accept mediocrity. lets keep in mind the only reason Holmes left PIT was because he likes to smoke pot and his failed drug test was right around the same time Rapelisberger showed his colors. getting rid of Holmes was a PR move. they certainly werent going to get rid of a franchise QB. anyways Holmes can redeem himself this year and I see this as another exaggeration by newspeople hoping to pick up the Holmes storylines from the end of last yr. __________________ well your completely wrong it has been reported the steelers were going to cut him the year before the ben stuff, the year they won the superbowl. thats right they were going to flat out cut him because he was such a douchbag. they didnt cut him because they didnt want to deal with cutting a sb mvp knew the fans werent in the locker room and wouldnt understand. he didnt just smoke weed he beat up his babies momma yep beat her up. ben was never charged or arrested for anything santobnio being dumped had zero to do with ben. then the year santonio came to the jets wallace blew up and there was a article with several steeler players quoted as saying how nice it is to have a big time playmaker who doesnt have a attitude. he was hated on the steelers rex thinks he can control anyone thats why the steelers dumped him and the jets took him. no other team offered the steelers anything for holmes thats why he was traded for a 5th
also dont forget no jets showed up for santurdios charity event last year how much proof do people need to realize the dude is a hated scumbag. i know its all just made up by the media i mean a guy who begs out of punt return duty because the punter is kicking it to far couldnt be a douche
I can see Holmes catching a TD pass from Tebow and then pointing over at Sanchez while he jogs down the sideline.
Top notch Wide receiver ; Supposedly one of the Best in the NFL , But is Traded on the cheap to a Rival AFC team. All thing become clear now! Santonio Had a tremendous 1st year and a tremulous 2nd , but in year three he is the focus of the offense. Hes the Brandon Marshall , the Devon Bess. If he is a quality wide receiver , this thread will be Mute!
try 61 if you include the all the WRs and TE's who outproduced him, many of whom weren't fortunate to be the first or 2nd target as Holmes was. Holmes first 2 full years with Jets barely equals what Gronk accomplished in ONE, in an offense where he was more often the 3rd option. SG's claim that Holmes is one of the best WRs in the league is simply LAUGHABLE. He had only one year of the last 6 where he topped 1000 yds. His stats don't put him in the top 40 WRs now. Yet he's paid as a top 10 WR, and exhibits all ego driven entitlement you'd expect to see from a Diva WR.who actually puts up top WR numbers
Holmes definitely isn't a stat-sheet stuffer, and he undoubtedly has character issues; but he can also make big plays and win games for his team (he did so on both the Steelers and Jets). Gronk is an awesome talent who produces immensely. Maybe, one day, he too will be a Superbowl MVP like Holmes.
