When asked, Revis should have said, I don't worry about the money or contract, I play football and let my agent and team work out the details.

Even though it wounldn't mean shit, at least it would have appear he is a team player.

Revis has never been good with making statements.

Well copper, I thought it was obvious that he forgot to type the word and....i.e. use again and transform into...
Furthermore, with some of the nasty stuff people say on message boards, the only thing that is obvious is what people say. I do not assume what people mean to say....

Are you telling me Michael Jordan held out because of that?

Or Andre Johnson (or Calvin Johnson for that matter) did that? Neither are getting paid as much as Revis does.

It does NOT matter whether you are the very best at your job or not. If you cannot be trusted to honor your contract, then why should I sign you to a contract? What's the point?

When I typed this, "Ah, the 'english language' police strikes again", I was inferring that you were playing policeman... so you confuse me with calling me the "copper". Apparently my response to your 'supposed comedic remark" went right over your head. Forgive me...

Alot of you give Revis a pass cause he's great and seems like a good guy.

His behavior regarding contract is so not being a team guy, so selfish... Absolutely unacceptable.

If a guy like AROD, in his prime was pulling something like this ( I know it's different in a lot of ways ), he would be getting slammed.

And the answer this time around is simple. Tell him, then sit out and you can be a free agent in 3 years, see you then, and mean it.

He will fake an injury and be riding a bike all pre-season. He went from my favorite player to scumbag with his contract bs. Character issues........

People seem pretty pissed off over something that hasn't happened yet. As far as I know he's not holding out at the moment. Of course it's possible that it could happen, but it sounds like people are getting ahead of themselves with the hate.

I agree, as I don't see it happenning. He was able to ride the best season ever by a CB (who was on his 1st contract) as leverage. JETS should let him sit at home if he pulls it again (and he probably thinks about this)

If he really needs more cash, homie needs to take advantage of the fact that he's adored in the nations biggest, best sports city and world's largest media market and work those endorsement dollars in the offseason

    This.

I may seem biased but I'm a Jet's fan first and foremost. Let's wait to see what he does before we start calling the guy a scumbag.

(and I'm really hoping if he does -- that the admins will let me change my names :-\)

Only on here Revis is known as the best defensive player in the league. Weird that most Jet fans dont want to pay him as such.

Revis' best move would be to go to OTAs, skip the first 5 or 6 games then show up.
If you don't get a contract repeat that next year, and go into FA without the chance of a franchise tag.
That's what I would tell him to do if I were his agent.

    1. Revis is not holding out

    2. Revis's 2010 contract was intended to be a short term band aid that would be renegotiated during or after the 2012 season in order to pay the best defensive player in Jet history and a certain Hall of Famer what he is worth. That will happen on schedule

    3. Only SOJFs and Dick Semen-i remain clueless to what will happen during or after this season

one of the few level headed posts in these threads

are you people fucking kidding me?

you are foaming at the mouth, turning your backs on one of the most dominant jets to ever put on the uniform and projecting all these traits onto a player that, other than the first hold out (which was more his agents fault than his), has done nothing but deliver for the franchise.

revis isnt going to hold out, and any journalist asking those questions is a lazy sack of shit who just doesnt want to do any real work but wants to be famous. theres an old joke that goes like this: a guy walks into a cab and asks, 'how do i get to carnegie hall?' the cabbie turns around and says, 'practice.' its a stupid joke, but i bring it up because of this. now-a-days, everybody is looking to get around the work. its a nation full of know-it-alls unwilling to accept that they need to work from the ground-floor up.

sensationalism might get you a headline but do you really want people to konw you as that asshole?

Interesting to see the fury here against Revis, but when Jason Peters did the same thing to the Bills, somehow, the Bills were clueless by dealing Jason Peters to the Eagles, who BTW, is out for the year with a ruptured Achilles, TWICE, this offseason?

Jason Peters was never the best in the league at his position and one of the greatest of all time.

Revis is great; but he is one colossal pain in the ass.

He's also a very large hit on our salary cap - who else would take this sort of overall contract hit on their salary bill?

He can, of course, push things as far as he thinks he can, but who will want him if he doesn't honour his contract and want to renegotiate his contract every 2 years?
