I like Revis a lot. I hope he doesn't pull another Hold Out. If he doesn, I am all for drafting his ass to Browns or another crappy team
If Revis was going to hold out, do you think the front office might move him tonight? The reason I ask is, What if we could get Cleveland's 4th overall, and 22nd overall, would you do it? Do you think that is too much, not enough? I would in a heartbeat. Thoughts?
As has been said several times in this thread, he cannot be traded this year for salary cap reasons. If you really mess around and trade a few other guys and cut a guy and rework a few other contracts it MAY be possible, but it would be ridiculous from a cap standpoint to make it work.
An elite CB tandem can make up for lack of pass rush and vice versa. A QB might have more time in the pocket, but if he's got nobody to throw to, it's moot. Now add an elite pass rusher to an elite corner tandem and you'll be deadly. I hope we strike gold in this draft with a pass rusher. If so our passing D is easily back to #1 next year.
HAHA, I love how people consistently make excuses for Mevi$ and his continual malignant behavior. “He’s the best corner in the NFL, He’s our Best player and our star,” blah blah blah…How about these redeeming qualities, non of which he has. A Leader of this Team and Defense, a pillar of the community, a team first player. I’m soo sick of his contractual bull shit. Be a fucking man and play out the current contract you have; something you have never done. I’m glad the Jets handcuffed your ass with hold-out deterrents; but the reality is your too dumb to adhear to them, even though they are financially in your best interest. Go ahead, don’t show up to camp in Cortland, lose money and fuck your team. This is why we should have traded your ass. One more thing… Fuck you!
Is Drew Brees a leader? I sure as hell think so. Just because someone wants to be paid what they deserve doesn't mean they are not a leader or are not a team player. Now I do think Revis's agents are a little ridiculous, but I also think the Jets should, next year, take care of Revis because, in all honesty, he makes us relevant. Without him the Jets will return to mediocrity year in and year out. Maybe they still will, but Revis is a key pillar in our top 5 defense and he is undoubtedly a leader of this team.
While I don't have much to say about this other than wait and see the last line here is fantastic. Well done
I think our defense would be affected less than people think. We would adjust our scheme for the players we have. The problem is that he is untradeable.
I like this line by Adam Schefter on ESPN: "What Brett Favre was to comebacks, Darrelle Revis might be to holdouts" LOL.
But he doesn't win ball games like a QB does. He rarely gets INT's and yet he wants QB money. Trade him for picks next year before the BS from him and his agent starts anew.
he most certainly wins games, he shuts down opposing teams #1 wrs who would otherwise destroy us. Really guys?
