I think it will work. Any time you can add an offensive weapon (like him or not, Tebow is a offensive weapon), you improve the team.
It's only May and I'm already sick of Tebow. I have always liked him, and will wish him luck no matter where he plays, (besides the obvious 3) but jesus. It's gotten so annoying. I can only imagine how it will be in august.
Listen we can go 5-0 and the stadium and the Media will still ROAR for Teebow and how Sanchez is holding this team back... It feels inevitable right?
Either Tebow becomes our franchise QB, or we trade him for far more than we got him for with his value on the rise and him under his rookie deal.
I think early season Tebow will be getting all the headlines and dodging controversial questions but by mid season Sanchez has grabbed a lot of attention as he is flourishing in Sparano's version of the Erhardt-Perkins playbook.
yeah but dont blame tebow for this...its the dickhead media, especially bspn, bringing his name up every two minutes and trying to create things that arent there...try not to let the media idiots reflect on tebow
It won't. Tebow can say all the right things now, but he wants to be #1. All the so called domination of OTA's by Sanchez mean nothing, especially to Tebow. He believes he is the guy and will not say anything to quiet the situation when some fans start getting vocal about wanting Sanchez out and him in. He was asked to step up and say something when Orton was on the hot seat and he refused, and he'll do the same thing in NY. Wait until he gets nailed a couple of times doing all the shit that Westhoff and Sparano have plans for him to do, and he starts seeing that it could shorten his career as a QB. You'll see what Tebow is all about.
It will work because Sanchez now has competition. The keebler elf and Old man river could not provide that for Mark in the past.
It reallly does man. I think he's a good dude, and I applaud his passion, but ultimately the truth is, unless he is your starter, you do not want him on your team. Denver just released a solid QB in Orton for no reason, and HEY everyone, I've never even been to New York, but I can tell you Tebow does not represent it in any way. I liked him in Denver, because that's my best friend's favorite team, and the team that got me into liking football. So I could wish him well, but here I just think Sanchez deserves an actual back up, not the man people compare to jesus. /rant I doubt he becomes it, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if that's what ended up happening. I doubt we trade him for more than a 4th also. Assuming he isn't starting for us, he won't gain value, and if we're starting him, we're probably not trading him. I'm not blaming Tebow for it at all. I love the dude, and believe him when he says his corny shit at the mic. I love his ethic, passion, and creativity. I just think Mark hasn't been given enough time. He's hardly had a stable receiving core his entire career, he's been in a shitty system, while not up to expectations, at least he has improved yearly, and he only started 1 year of college. I believe he really wants it, and while at times, made me scream, and wish for manning, or flynn, I still support him, and think he will excel with Schotty gone. Our receiving core is the best he has ever had to work with to date in potential. Also, the oldest is Holmes, and even he is only 28. I don't think he will ever be a top 5 QB, but think he can be a solid B level starter for years to come. Even if we lose double digit games, they both keep their jobs.
You're crazy if you believe that..Mangini got fired after a 9-7 season and Edward after a 4-12. Johnson don't make money with losing teams.
The Jets would have to be a complete disaster IMO for Ryan to lose his job this year. He's already had more success than any Jets HC since Ewbank. Plus I think the whole lockeroom crap was overblown-We all saw their were some gaping holes on the roster--8-8 sounded about right.
I'm not a Tebowite but some of you are hypocrites if you don't admit you'll LOVE tim tebow if the Jets are successful this fall, I will say that. As for Mike Francesa, he's already killing himself every day by eating his fat ass to death. A successful Sanchez/Tebow dynamic could very well be the final straw. That's WIN / WIN right there Jets fans!!
Preparing for Tebow alone will suck up a lot of prep time for teams. I believe the duo will be effective and Sanchez has his best year.
QFT. Not gonna happen. Sanchez has been crappy because he can't read defenses NOT because there's nobody to push him. Moreover, I can't see how Tebow can really be "competition" for Sanchez in practice since his QB skills are so lacking. In games, he'll be competition because of the "Tebow!" chants from the crowd. When he gets in, I suspect he won't be particularly effective except on broken plays since teams already have figured out how to defense him. I don't think Tannenbaum will go anywhere even if the Jets win only 4 or 5 games. Ryan, OTOH, will take the fall for FO mistakes ... probably along with Sanchez. Again, QFT. Tebow is a QB controversy that's gonna happen, not because of Tebow himself, but because of the idiots in the stands who will be chanting his name every time the starter makes the smallest miscue. Since NONE of those "gaping holes" have really been addressed except with wishful thinking that a couple of rookies come through and Tony Sparano is an offensive genius disguised as a mediocre ex-HC, good luck with getting more than 8 wins. How smart is it to use your backup QB to run "up to 20 plays a game"? This seems to me to be the basic fallacy of using Tebow in more than a handful of plays in any game. The backup QB is supposed to ready to come in for the starter in case of injury. Using Tebow in various plays, even, as some posters have suggested in other threads, on punts, etc seems to be a pretty stupid idea.
