Braylon was productive and exciting to watch. For the right price, I'd be down with it. Doesn't matter either way...we have master schemer Sporano ...oh wait..that didn't come off nearly as sarcastic as I would have liked.
all the more reason to give the guy more weapons to work with. The less imaginative the OC, if he has plenty of weapons at his disposal, it makes his job easier. Same for the QB position, the more playmakers surrounding him, the more likely he is to succeed.
I'm definitely not against Braylon coming back, I just don't know how its all gonna work regardless. This team has been edging more towards Raiders Circus land every year. I have a really bad feeling about this up coming season.
Circus land? the first two years we were anything but. Last year all hell imploded i'll give you that. What is it that scares you so much about this upcoming year? The animosity may return if we start slow, but a fast start, and all this crap from 2011 will die a swift death.
Well the hotdog thing...then the pouting, then the foot thing. The friggin bird flipping, then the cluster F that was last year. I foresee a QB controversy coming, which is in its very essence a circus...Sporano with his loud crazy attitude mixing with Rex' loud crazy attitude...I really would not be shocked to see Rex and Tony throwing punches a' la Buddy....Santonio hasn't suddenly become more understanding....just way too many sketchy things can go wrong. The whole Tebow circus....expect to see planes shaped like crosses haha... It may all work, I sure as hell don't know..I would not be shocked if it didn't though.
No reason to bring him back. We have Holmes and Hill starting with Kerley in the slot. Schillens and Turner for backups. Edwards would have no role on this team. He'd be a waste of a roster spot.
Actually that was one factor that allowed Cowboys to succeed when Sparano called the plays - they had Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens on the outside. Having Braylon and Hill at the split end position could work theoretically - provided Braylon comes with affordable price.
Braylon aint coming to a team where he has no future (here) I just dont see it happening Hes gonna go somewhere where he at least as a possibility of being a player. If he comes here for 1 year he might be the big man for 1 year, but we still traded up in the 2nd for a WR, and have our true young (healthy) slot guy. Braylon to NYJ is so unrealistic imo, unless NOBODY else wants him And considering the week FA class remaining, id say he gets a job
Bengals and Jets Interested in Braylon + Texans? Good to see the Jets and Braylon's name attached still, but now Cinci is being thrown into the mix. "ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on NFL Live Monday that the Bengals and Jets have expressed interest in free agent Braylon Edwards. We knew about the Jets' interest; they've made it public. The Bengals' interest is new, though, and makes plenty of sense at an unsettled position in Cincinnati. While the Bengals used draft picks on Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones, Edwards could give them a field-stretching veteran to book end A.J. Green. Edwards' knee is the biggest issue. He underwent surgery late last season, and was still believed to be in rehab mode early this spring." And speculation regarding Texans "Texans coach Gary Kubiak tells CBSSports.com that there is a "strong possibility" the team will add a veteran wide receiver. After cutting Jacoby Jones, the Texans are all of a sudden very young at the wide receiver position after Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter. Devier Posey and Keshawn Martin are both rookies, while Lestar Jean and Jeff Maehl both went undrafted in 2011. Plaxico Burress and Braylon Edwards headline an underwhelming list of free agents at the position."
Always liked Edwards, but I think Schefter referred to Jets interest in BE as pre draft interest. He didn't mention anything regarding anything new. I think that interest is dead after Hills pick, although I still wouldn't mind if we got BE for a mil plus incentives.
If he has the chance to sign with Houston I'd be stunned to see him turn it down. This is a guy looking to sign a one-year deal and prove he can still play, and the Texans give him the best opportunity to be productive.
"Best opportunity to be productive"??? ... We have a headcase of a receiver and a rookie who never played in a pro-style offense. The one year Braylon was here was like a career season for him, Braylon's best opportunity to be productive is with the Jets.
I would find it hard to believe that Tannebaum would spend even a penny on another WR before shoring up the OL and RB positions. Aren't we supposed to be a ground and pound offense again?
Your point, which I agree with, is one no one else seems to be taking into account. As much as I like Edwards, imo he goes elsewhere if he sees a team wanting him that seems to have more than one year of playing for him. The Hill pick and Kerley's presence seem to suggest the only way Edwards has a future with those two is if Holmes goes next year. I can't see the Jets making that kind of decision now, tell Edwards that is the plan, and then commit to it. Would Edwards take a chance on that scenario? Imo, unlikely. Bottom line, if Texas or Cincy seems to have room on their squad past year one, Edwards is not coming back.
No, going to a run-first offense that has serious questions at QB and little talent at other skill positions is not his best opportunity to be productive. He would want to go somewhere that has a more dangerous and established passing game.
I'd love to see Braylon back in a Jets uniform. Along with Shaun Ellis we really missed those two last year. That said with us drafting hill he's not much of a need anymore. Texans and Bengals probably need him more. Especially the Texans imagine BE lined up on the opposite side of the field as Andre Johnson. yikes.
houston offers the chance to play opposite a beats of a wr and a top rb.braylon will never get over the top coverage.add in a better qb situation and really its a no brainer which situation would have potential for better production
