People on this board despise the Patriots.

Some of us give credit when it is due. I don't know why Patriot fans here are expecting you to worship us though, we're all high on our own drafts and think the others sucked. We'll only know who deserves the credit once the season starts.

Addai is insurance. Our RB corps before the signing was Ridley (Had a 5.0+ ypc avg on nearly 100 touches in 2011), Vereen (injury plagued season, played behind Woodhead), and Woodhead. UDFA Brandon Bolden could make the roster, more likely he'll be on the PS. Larsen and Fiametta are both long shots, as we haven't really used a FB since 2008, although I like what Fiametta was doing before he was injured, was easily one of the best in the league pre-injury.

I'm very high on Ridley being a #1 back on our team, he was supposed to be the same style of runner as BJGE but he displayed great balance and was much faster than any of us thought. Vereen ...I don't know what to think. He looked pretty bad in his limited touches and his ypc avg was only as "high" (3.8) as it was due to a 19 yard run he finally broke off. Woodhead is a great receiver and gets lost in the backfield. I don't see Addai getting any touches on gameday unless someone gets hurt, if he makes the roster, unless Brady is really getting abused. He's a better pass blocker than Woodhead on 3rd down, that's for sure.

You don't, other Jets fans were asking what our opinion was. Someone gives a fuck. I don't give a fuck that you don't.

Don't let the young'uns and the nooBs speak for all of us... some of us old-timers remember the not-so-good-old-days of the New England Patriots football club.

I remember when I got into the NFL (back in the mid-80's) the Pats were one of the top teams (NFL took off in the UK mostly around the time of the Pats/bears superbowl and the fridge) and despite the "England" in the name I never went for them as a team mainly because I was never a front runner sort of fan (hence decades of disappointment) but also because your logo back then was really, really awful.

If only I could have seen past that I could have enjoyed a lot more vicarious success as a fan :(

Makes sense... if I started following soccer, I doubt I'd be a big Man-U fan or something!

I have a buddy from Scotland... he's a Colts fan, his wife is a Patriots fan, and his son is a Giants fan. As soon as his son is old enough to drink I believe he and his old man will be engaged in a fistfight or three.

I like the guy, he did what he needed to do for NE. But a big loss? He's a cog in the machine, not a standout player.

Basically rudimentary receiving skills, slow and a measly 3.7 YPC. The NFL is full of better RBs. NE has at least two on their roster right now.
