I'd love Braylon but I also think Turner is being over looked in all this. Turner seemed to come on towards the end of the season and also has a familiarity with Sanchez, who seemed to have confidence in him in big spots the last few games.
I said this not that long ago, but if Turner and Braylon are going to cost essentially the same thing (600k vs. 800k) which guy would you rather have? I want braylon every time.
Turner scored in garbage time last season. If I have choice Braylon or Turner, its Braylon all day............
With or without Braylon this is our receiving corps Holmes Hill Kerley Schilens Turner/Braylon The only guy amongst them that plays teams at all is Kerley, and hes a PR guy. I think all of our gunners are going to be DB's this year.
Exactly. I've been saying he'll run 9's and block, but obviously he'll run a few other routes. The most common will likely be the 9, but a few simple comebacks and posts will keep defenses on their heels. I'm sure he can do more.
U mean his 8 receptions in the last 8 games were impressive? If u mean he's playing great I agree. He seems to be at his peek. It's not like he didn't get a chance last year. He played in every game. If he was good enough, he would demanded more offensive snaps n more throws towards him. He's a special teamer that come dime a dozen. We CAN overlook him to sign BE.
Don't forget Jordan White. If he stays healthy I think he has as good a shot as anyone to make the team.
Hmmm. I remember Braylon getting called on a penalty for roughing the kicker. I'm pretty sure he went in to block punts a number of times, and even catch the ball on PRs. In fact I remember Cro & Edwards in on special teams at the same times on one or two occasions.
Cromartie got the roughing the kicker. Edwards doesn't have a single punt return in his career. Seeing as how you've misremembered those two, I'm going to go ahead and assume you've misremembered the last point.
I have to agree with this. He was decent as a #4 guy last season but with how poor our WR corps was he really had an opportunity to shine and was still only mediocre. If they bring him back for depth/ST I don't see anything wrong with that, but I don't see the guy as a starting WR.
If you look at the season as a whole, the numbers were not at all impressive. But when you consider he improved as the year went on when who could you say that about? His year looked a bit better. I bet the team gives him a shot this year, and expect Turner to be on the roster.
Jets fans need to get off the Braylon wagon. That ship has sailed, with the drafting of Hill it all but sealed it. Give it up. Have your opinion on whether or not Tannenbaum screwed up the Holmes/Braylon/Cotchery/Plaxico mess that's fine - but let go your hopes of Braylon coming back. For some reason they don't like him otherwise he'd be here since he's practically begging for work. Couple that with Hill who is a very similar, younger player and that he won't play special teams - Peace Braylon. We all know the top 4, but the last spot will go to the winner of the battle of Turner/White/ any special teamer.. If there's some injury maybe Braylon gets a call sometime but I kind of doubt it.
I agree, he did improve, but being that he had done so little previously, just about anything would have been an improvement. I'm not trying to put the guy down and I do agree that he probably gets a roster spot again this season, I just don't expect any major contributions from him as a WR - if he proves me wrong I'll of course be happy about it.
