Vinny Curry was my favorite part of the Marshall vs WVU game last season. The guy is going to get serious attention/consideration from a lot of teams over the course of the season.
Not necessarily my top 15, just players I'm keeping my eye on: Jon Massaquoi, DE Troy #94 Brandon Jenkins, DE FSU #49 Bruce Irvin, DE WVU #11 Donte Paige-Moss, DE UNC #98 Audie Cole, OLB NCSU #42 Nick Foles, QB Arizona #8 Jason Ford, RB Illinois #21 Kenny Tate, FS/OLB Maryland #6 Al Dennard, CB Nebraska #15 Matt Reynolds, OT BYU #70 Nate Potter, OT BSU #73 Demarlo Belcher, WR IU #88 Juron Criner, WR Arizona #82 Onterio McCalebb, RB Auburn #23 And I've got Brock Osweiler(QB-ASU) as my potential breakout player...
Good call on Criner. With Foles going back to Zona he'll have a chance for a big season. With all the premier names going back to school, people might sleep in he and Jeff Fuller some heading into the season.
Your 2013 thread prompted me to look this one up! Its funny how many of these players were still top 20 picks a whole year and a bit later but also interesting to see a guy like Vontaze Burfict here listed as a top 20 pick and a year later go totally undrafted - its incredible how much his attitude has cost him. Also funny later in the thread to see people starting the Mo Claiborne bandwagon
Pretty spot on, I'd say with a few exceptions that weren't really WW85's fault. Barkley would have certainly been a top 10 pick had he come out, and I think Te'O would have gone in the mid-1st as well. Jeffrey dropped a bit because of work ethic, and Fuller dropped hard because he dropped passes. Mike Adams was a certain 1st round pick until he tested positive, and Cliff Harris ruined his shot as well with marijuana. Reynolds was completely shut out of the draft for some unknown reason, as he was highly thought of the year before.
I sure am... The kid has all-pro ability and I am stoked about our front 7 and especially our DL... If Maybin pans out to be even halfway decent against the run and develops more on his counter moves, this front 7 could be the best in the league. Everybody said starting last year that our front 7 needs to be addressed, and they certainly did that. You just have to love the way its shaping up. If players pan out accordingly, we could have a long term position for every spot in the front 7 besides one OLB spot...
Always interesting to see how predictions pan out a year later. I did fairly well, quite a few players didn't declare and a few (Burfict & Harris) got into trouble to drop their stock. Approx half of my list were 1st Rd picks. It's amazing how players like RG3, Shea McClellin, David DeCastro & Doug Martin raise their stock to become 1st rd draft picks.
