westhoff loved demario ,they said. also said they went BPA (on their board) each pick. said this in response to question about OL need
This is from GMjr 2012 by Russ Lande. BTW he had Davis rated even with Hightower. Demario Davis was an exciting player to evaluate because he is such and explosive and versatile athlete. While is instincts at this stage in his career are one of the only things holding him back from reaching his full potential, he has an uncommon first step once he does make his mind up, comparable to San Francisco’s Navarro Bowman. He shows off impressive range both in coverage and on outside runs, and flashes the ability to break down in space to make open field tackles. Before he is ready to start he will need to improve his tackling, fix his footwork in pass coverage, as well as learn to read his keys better, but he has an extremely high ceiling because of his athleticism and potential to translate to any linebacker position in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense. While he grades out as a late day 2 prospect, do not be surprised if a team like Baltimore or Green Bay falls in love with his potential and is willing to jump at the chance to take him earlier
One thing you do have to like I guess is we definitely upgraded team speed... One thing I still am hesitant about is that they are talking him up on STs... We need impact players in the first 3 rounds. I hope he can do so.
Well LB is usually a slow position developmental wise. So if he can contribute on specials early, more the better.
Hmmmm..... interesting to me that Massie is still there, did we achieve better value with Davis over Massie? Not sure, but the fact that Massie is still there must show that teams are holding back on him
i think he will in on obvious passdowns at the minimum personally i love the first 3 picks. impact players in all 3 phases and a lb that can run with the t.e's
I had a feeling Miller would drop... Not the smartest in learning a playbook and has injury concerns. I would love him on the Jets. Too bad we dont have a 4th...
