    Blow yourself.

This isn't checkers, and We are all terribly sorry that your college boyfriend didn't get drafted.

The Jets lacked speed at DL, OLB, and WR, and its clear that's what they set out to correct.

Just because you guys are clueless to he is doesn't mean he's a bad pick. Did the Jets dodge needs pretty well this draft so far? Yeah, but they got some good football players. He'll work nicely inside next to Harris.

Every mock I've looked at had him going in the third round.

Does anyone think that the Jets might be switching to a 4-3? First Coples and now Davis. Both are 4-3 guys that aren't very flexible. Sure, you can force a guy to play a position, but neither of these guys have much scheme versatility.

Could we possibly see something like this?

    LDE: Wilkerson
    LDT: Pouha
    RDT: Devito
    RDT: Coples
    SLB: Davis
    MLB: Harris
    WLB: Pace

Could we also see Bart traded? Something fishy is going on. There is no way that the Jets would have drafted this guy if something wasn't up.

    Height: 6-2. Weight: 235.
    40 Time: 4.53.
    Bench: 32.
    Vertical: 38.5. Broad: 10-4.
    Arm: 32.
    Projected Round (2012): 3-5.
4/25/12: Davis recorded 69 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss, three sacks and one interception in 2011. He was a late addition to the Senior Bowl, but Davis held his own against the better competition. He is fast and has some physicality.

At the Combine, Davis showed off his rare combination of skills. He sprinted a very fast 40 time and was one of the leaders on the bench press. His vertical and broad jump measurements were excellent and showed his explosion. At his pro day, Davis had another quality performance. He is a sleeper prospect who could be a big reward in the NFL.

8/23/11: Demario Davis has been one of the best defensive players in the Sun Belt Conference during the past two seasons. In 2009, he made 82 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, three sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown. Last year, his tackle production dipped to 63 stops, 3.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Davis needs to improve his tackle production in 2011 to help his draft stock.

There is a reason that Massie, who many gave a first round grade, is plummeting. Before you jump off the roof, wait to find out why. BTW, OLB was a bigger need as is FS.

Bart is going to be a 2 down player this year. On third you will see Davis come in rush the passer. 3rd down will look nasty, slide Coples inside Pace and Wilkerson on end Maybin, Demario Davis, Harris, and don't forget about Laron Landry. I am pumped!!!

I was praying to the Football Gods that some miracle would occur in the draft ... But they didn't listen to me

And on top of that, Kiper had OLB as their biggest need before the pick,, NOT OL. I like the guy who was complaining that WR wasn't a need when the Jets picked in the 2nd round, now before their last pick, Kiper STILL HAD WR AS A NEED. GET A CLUE.

Aren't they projecting this guy to play OLB and not ILB?

Davis, is an OLB. And will probably play behind Coples with Maybin opposite.

    Go play in traffic.

    Here's your front 7...

    Coples, Elllis, Wilkerson...

    Davis,Harris, Scott, Maybin...

    (Behind that)

    Revis, Wilson,Cro,

    Landry...

Pretty f@@ing fast defense on passing downs.

Looks like we got a young cross between Bart Scott and Bryan Thomas. This kid has a nose for the run.

As soon as ESPN gets done jerking off with interviews from Tom Dick and Harry, they will show some film of this guy.

    Weight: 235 6ft 2 DeMario Davis
    40 Time: 4.53
    Grade: 6.9 (Grading Scale)

    Arms: 32″ Hands: 9″

    Vertical: 38.5″ Broad: 10’4″ 3 Cone: 7.19 Short Shuttle: 4.28 Bench: 32

    Film Room Notes: Senior Bowl

Strengths: Demario Davis is a physical specimen – When watching him on film two words come to mind: explosive and powerful – He is one of the fastest linebackers in this draft class (4.53) and is THE strongest, producing 32 reps on the bench press – Davis can truly play a sideline to sideline type game – Tracks down the ball carrier all over the field, has great closing speed – When he gets to the ball he finishes with power – Has the ability to play any linebacker position, from 4-3 ILB, to OLB and could also be utilized as an edge rusher in a 3-4 – One of the most powerful tacklers in the draft, punishes the ball carrier with each tackle, wraps up and drives into the ground – Probably the most explosive first step of any LB, can get to top speed quickly – Keeps his pad level low, showcasing natural bend in his hips and knees – Takes on blockers at point of attack, can shed with his hands or with natural power – Fluid athlete, can move laterally, change direction easily and turn and run – Played in the 4-2-5, allowed to run free and make plays – Plays with an intensity and passion on each play, I think he could be at his best when he’s blitzing, just a relentless player – Plays instinctive, once he sees the play develop, it’s like he’s shot out of a cannon – His athletic ability allows him to be pretty solid in coverage, can run with backs out of the backfield and get a chip on the TE at LOS – Can also cover a WR out of the slot – Davis is one of the hardest workers in the draft and a great kid – Contributed on all special teams throughout his career – Has already graduated college and was on the academic honor roll throughout his time at Arkansas State.

Weaknesses: One of the biggest questions with Davis is where he is going to play at the next level – He was given a lot of freedom to make plays, so he will be reigned in a little bit in the pros – Technique can be improved, but has gotten better – Man coverage ability can always improve, as well as instincts while in zone coverage – Small school label, so not as well known as other players

Overall, Davis is one of the most explosive and well rounded defensive players in this year’s draft. He comes from a smaller school, where not many people saw him play. Davis is always around the ball and plays with such power and intensity that there is no doubt in my mind he will make in in the NFL. He will be a fit with just about every team in the league regardless of the type of defense they run. Look for Davis to come off the board in round three and looking back on it in five years that could be the steal of the draft.

Pace, Scott and Thomas are clearly entering their final seasons with the Jets. Davis was clearly a need. Like their first two picks, Davis is clearly has awesome size/speed combo.

Kiper just complimented the guy, said if he played in a bigger conference, would have went higher.
