I wanted DeCastro too but I was pretty sure we were going defense. Moore needs a replacement and RT is a hole. We might have our eye on someone later in the draft who we like on the line. Wondering where we go with our second rounder now. OL LB or Safety.
Like they did with Gholston? or Rhodes? Motivation can't be coached. Maaaybe a guy like Lewis... maaaybe.
Since he's a Jet I will be rooting for him but for the 1st time in a while, I am not pumped up about the Jets pick. He's apart of the Jets family so I will root for him. Coples has to prove me wrong...he has it in him but he needs to develop "Wanting It" to kill a motherfucker in the backfield.
the guys at ourlads know more than anyone on this board - they had Coples rated as the 10th best player in this draft and the only available player they had higher rated was Decastro and a pass rusher >>>>> a guard. its a boom or bust pick but lets at least try to hope its the former rather than the latter.
Gholston's problem wasn't motivation he just had no football skills. He got picked because of raw ability and he was able to overpower people in college. He had 0 pass rushing moves. Cople has football skills hes just lazy. Rhodes was a great safety who was afraid of getting hurt. Can't motivate someone who is scared. You just like complaining.
He'll put on a little weight and be a 5 tech. That means player's nose on the outside of the OT's shoulder, for all those who don't know. Building the front 7 is a good thing. We still need a LB though. All this did was make us really formidable at D-Line when we already had a sufficient one.
