EXACT OPPOSITE Richardson fits Tebow's game better then Sanchez's If any QB gets traded if we get Richardson it is Sanchez. Tebow was made for the ground and pound game guys like Green and Richardson BECOME MORE EFFECTIVE if Tebow is the QB. He revived Willis Magahee's career in DEN made him look like an all star watch how he does this year without Tebow. Any run heavy draft picks like RB or bigger OL-MEN and a SPEED WR... these things are in favour of Tebow becoming the starter. I said from day 1 watch if in the draft the Jets get a big time RB a big OL who can runblock and a SPEED WR... those all signal Jets anticipate Tebow taking over ... if it's a Sanchez draft you'd get a BIG WR not a SPEED WR, a pass block OL and a smaller RB who excells at pass catch.
Both qb's have proven to be more successful at the NFL level with a power running game. A back like Richardson fits both of them just fine. Implying otherwise is being biased.
You are absolutely correct when you say, "The circus atmosphere for a Super Bowl run would be completely different than this". BUT the difference will NOT be stopping the jokes, stopping media created controversy, or stopping pressure being put on the Jets. That comes with the territory (winning). The difference is that we will be smiling when we tell the Jets haters and doubters to F off.
If tebow plays with Trent it would be a lights out running attack. This is more fact than opinon based on Denver going from 25th to 1st in the run game when tebow took over.
Kerley: Tebow throws much harder than Sanchez... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ays-tebow-throws-harder-than-sanchez/related/ Jets’ Kerley says Tebow throws harder than Sanchez Posted by Michael David Smith on April 25, 2012, 9:52 AM EDT Denver Broncos v Miami Dolphins Getty Images Having caught passes from both Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, Jets receiver Jeremy Kerley says there’s a big difference: Tebow throws a lot harder. “Different than Mark, different than Mark,” Kerley told the Star-Ledger when asked how Tebow throws. “[Tebow's] ball comes out a little bit stronger, but he’s accurate, he’s more accurate than what I thought he was going to be. But he’s a good dude, he has a great personality, he’ll bring a lot of personality to the team.” Asked how much more velocity Tebow has than Sanchez, Kerley said, “A LOT, a lot more velocity. No dis to Mark, he brings it, man.” Kerley wasn’t making any assessment about who’s the better passer between Tebow and Sanchez, but he was saying that after getting over the initial “shock” from the trade, he was glad to have Tebow as a teammate. “It was a good shocked,” Kerley said. “We got a winner on our team. Obviously, that’s what he is. I was shocked but I was happy.”
In the Chicago game, he finished out 18-24 passing. Threw for six straight completions and a touchdown pass in the next to the last possession, and threw for all the yards (39) on the final tying drive. Threw for 36 yards in OT to get the winning field goal.
I'm sorry I wasn't more clear because I didn't intend to suggest or imply Jets fans wouldn't like a SB run. Vailed in my words was an intent to subtlely call out the few message board members that constantly crybaby about Tim, or the 3/12ers, or the circus, to the degree that it seems a Jets SB run would be their worst nightmare.
You lost me. Tebow is a sub 50% passer in an offense that was tailored to his specific skill set. Splits? Tebow is throwing 35% in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. Where does Tebow and Sanchez actually compare? Tebow has yet to actually play QB in the NFL. He is certainly not comparable to Sanchez in that respect.
Yay! I hit 50 posts and now can embed a video link. Let's see if I get this right... Well, I don't think I got that right... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvWZajk2hXE
my friend overheard snachez at a bar saying he didnt give a f*ck about tebow.....his wallet is full and he cant wait to put his next hot dog order in if hes on ze bench.
I already believe in Tebow. I believe he'll be a great addition to the running game and wildcat offense. Nothing more, nothing less.
Denver was first in rushing mostly because Denver was first in rushing attempts. Its more than correlation. Its closer to cause and effect. The same goes for the Jets in 2009. Run more, gain more rushing yards.
splits being passes by distance. reason would dictate the longer the pass the less likely to complete, that holds true for all qb's across the league. You would expect due to the disparity between Sanchez and Tebows completion% that Sanchez would be 10% higher at all distances, but that is not the case. He is actually 10% higher at 10-20 yards, and the rest are pretty negligible differences 3% lower behind the line, 5% higher 1-10 yds. Completion% is highly dependant on scheme and actually overall has a relativley low (but not zero) correlation to winning. YPA is actually roughly twice as likely to indicate which qb won a game
MaGahee said in an interview that because of the outside contain factor and the way defenses had to play Tebow , the inside lanes were wide open and led to many runs we're the opposing defense was gashed for big gains. Tebow obviously also contributed with his legs and if he would have started all 16 games might have been close to a 1000 yard season himself . You can correlate attempts all you want but if they had had Orton trying to hand off to MaGahee up the middle with the same number of attempts they would not have led the league in rushing .
