Bettman's dream finals would be LA vs NYR, he wants the biggest markets tuning in. There is no anti-NYR conspiracy. Lol.
Now that would be very interesting....VERY VERY INTERESTING. I still would love to know how that scumbag got that job.
I doubt it cuz Shanahan has suspended himself for a flagrant elbow to a defenseless player
Shanahan got the job because he was a 20-year vet of the league who scored goals (500+) but still played physical. He will rightly be in the Hall of Fame one day. The job he took is thankless. Fans of one of the teams will ALWAYS be pissed off. That's how it is, that's how it was under Colin Campbell. There is no consistency in the judgments because all the plays are different and can be micro-analyzed in different directions. It will never change.
Rangers needed a new strategy, and they came up with a great one - bring your own refs. Utter fucking travesty of a second period - the calls against Ottawa were a fucking joke. The boarding call on Silfverberg, the goalie interference on Foligno, and the 5 on 3 changed the game. Well done. You've been gifted a game 7 by the league. Bettman was talking before the game about how pleased he was that ratings were up 50% in the US, I guess that's a good way to do it. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but that's an absolutely fucking travesty of a game. Two other points: - Neil didn't touch the puck, and video evidence certainly wasn't conclusive to overturn - Watch the Neil hit on Boyle and the MDZ hit on Neil again; the difference is that Neil hit every part of Boyle including his head because it was down, MDZ only hit Neil's head. Del Zotto shouldn't be playing on Thursday if Shanahan is going to be consistent.
What the hell indeed, as in "what the hell are you talking about?" It's blatantly obvious from other angles that Lundqvist changes the puck's direction, not Neil. You have no right complaining about refereeing after tonight. None.
While I totally agree with you Jake on paper....TOTALLY...the NHL is probably one of the dumbest run sports in the history of.....well..sports. Yeah...Im a ranger fan..but screw the Rangers for a second. Some of the suspensions and decisions are almost as if 3 guys go in a room...get drunk out of their mind...start cracking up...as if to say "come on..come on...lets rule this one like this"..while a few guys in the room our puking and yelling "no...no...thats too crazy!!" and then they all say "lol...fuck it...lets do it!!".
How about this strategy, bring your own puck cuz most hockey pucks do not gain so much speed without a force being applied to it, are you going to argue the laws oh physics do not work in the creases in Canadian hockey rinks?
You're right, Lundqvist does change the puck's direction. You can clearly see he slowed it down and moved it back towards him for half a second before Neil's skate pushed it in. It's not even debatable.
lol.....oh my god...IM NOT! I have stated it sucked for both teams. You have the nerve to write what you do and then tell me its blatantly obvious from other angles that Lundqvist changes the puck's direction, not Neil. Seriously? How is anyone even discussing anything with you.
I don't agree, at all. But let's say for a moment that you're right - that doesn't even come close to the way that we got absolutely fucked by the officials tonight. Not even slightly.
See Rangers fans are an interesting mix. Yankees & Giants fans are Rangers fans and expect the team to win and these lows are just a speed bump on the way to the championship. Then you get the Jets and Mets fans in here who also follow the Rangers, who expect to get clusterfucked every game and the team to never amount to anything. It was like a fucking funeral on the web after Saturday night's game. Well shit that was only Game 5 and here we are game 7 for the series on Thursday. Guess what, if the Rangers win at home they move on with no Pittsburgh and no Vancouver left. All of a sudden the Cup isn't so far away any more...
Again, OK. I don't agree, but I'm not going to allow this to become the talking point because it's irrelevant. 3-2 or 3-1, the Senators were completely and totally shafted by the refs in the second. They were cheated.
The refs were horrible all night long, for both sides. They were calling every little thing. Ottawa took advantage of that on their PP goal. Rangers got a huge break in the second and took advantage.
Jake...you too are kidding me right? A thankless job? You dont have to lecture me about who he is and what he did. I could care less. I know him very well. Thankless job. What are they paying him...is it 5 figures? Hopefully over 20000 a year? His job should be easier..he makes it tough.
