The replay I saw from the net cam showed the puck trickling towards the net, kick attempt whiffed, puck still crossed the line. It was pretty clear from the 5 replays I saw, I guess it's subject to angle viewed. Either way, we're goin to game 7.

Im not sure where the hell people saw that he whiffed on that kick. The puck was barely moving...you see HL go to put his glove over the puck as its barely moving...then you see the puck all of a sudden sliding to the back of the net? Regardless, for the Senators and anyone rooting for them to bitch about the calls is pretty hysterical. The refs have sucked both ways....just leave it at that. Game 7...the Garden...doesnt get any better than this. Even like the extra day off.

Jon, I totally agree about the common strategy...but I have never seen a team that totally relies on their point men to create everything. My point was the Senators would not have the numbers down low because you had for the entire power play a Ranger defenseman stacked up against 2 Senators in front of the net. I even think they corrected it. The pressure they put on the points during the 3rd period kills was much better. I get the collapse and for 95 % of the teams you play..it works. Not against this team. They create nothing from behind the net..nothing from sides. Its all the points. Its like a shooting gallery. Hey..its a win...I loved the way the played against in the 3rd period. Game 7 baby!

The problem I would have with him Jon if I were a Senator fan is that his shot, while friggin blistering, is so damn thoughtless. There is no thinking to it. Where is it going? Who are you trying to set up? Deflection? 90% of the time you just hear the glass cracking. And the guys calling the game do exactly what you are talking about..get all hot and bothered by the whizzing puck which misses the net and his teammates sticks almost every time.
