There are 32 starting QB's in the NFL, give or take a few. In three years now I have heard stories about ONE QB organizing workouts or having his teammates organize workouts in the off-season. I bet you think this is going to be about Mark Sanchez work ethic. I bet you think it's going to be about his leadership. Well it's not. This is going to be about more Jets PR spin. Anybody who thinks that Mark Sanchez has somehow miraculously been the only QB organizing workouts in the NFL with his teammates over the last three seasons, well I have a bridge to sell you. This is about the circus, bright young QB leader in the far ring folks, hurry, hurry step right up. This is about the Jets again putting more pressure on Sanchez than a young QB should face early in his career. They've used him as a PR gimmick to keep the presses humming for three seasons now. Anything but just letting him learn his craft in the relative anonymity that most players enjoy in the off-season. It's a disease. The Jets need to be in the headlines all the time is a sickness of the soul that infects everything this team does. The head coach cant be just a great defensive head coach, he has to be Rex the Ringmaster. The QB can't just be a young guy learning his trade, he has to be the brilliant hard-working fearless leader who gathers his troops on his own time to work on the game. Darrelle Revis can't just be the best CB in the NFL he has to be an island. The offense can't just be a normal pro style offense it has to be something "special" that people can write about as if the Jets were unique somehow. The branding and marketing that the Jets go through is exhausting for the fans and media to deal with. How can it possibly not be for the players also? Mark Sanchez is sitting on the depth chart with all the accumulated baggage that the build-up the Jets PR people do added to his very normal progression as an NFL QB not named Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Did we really need to know that Sanchez and Holmes were working out on Florida right now? What did that add? More questions for them from the media? A rehash of the issues from last year? A tie-in to the Tebow-mania because Tim the Enchanter was not invited? It's all a crock and it starts with the Jets being run like an entertainment firm not a football team.
Actually we hear about most QBs that do this, we hear more about sanchez b/c we are Jet fans paying attention to Jet news. Do we really need to know 90% of the info we read and see?
You are joking right? I heard of multiple QB's doing this, especially over the lockout. One of the reasons that it might only seem like Sanchez is because we are Jets fans and want Jets news. Just a quick google search shows Brady, Brees, Alex Smith, and Eli did it last season. We probably forget about that because we don't read stories that have no impact on the Jets and if we do read it, we have no reason to remember it since it has no impact on the Jets.
I have a feeling this is going to be a really good season. I hope these two can grow a pair and put it past them not just talk about moving forward.
Yea Brees is always doing offseason workouts with teammates. Wasn't there a story last year or the year before where Sanchez was going to go to work out with Brees.
Didn't they do the exact same thing during last year's lockout? If it's all about team, why wasn't Tebow included?
Not sure what you are implying? All I said was a sarcastic comment followed by saying that this can't hurt.
Well, maybe it's just a coincidence, but Disney has Gay Days coming up... (Not that there's anything wrong with it...)
Florham has been way too coddled we need to bring in Orlando to push Florham cause Florham is lazy and too comfortable
Who cares why it was released? I posted this in response to Mehta's sources claiming Sanchez doesn't give a shit and Holmes can't co-exist with Sanchez. If the media wants to blow stories way out of proportion then let the team jab them back. These guys are working, stop the fucking presses.
I've been reading a lot of comments and I feel like everyone is jaded. Anything Jets do something right, everyone will say "oh, they're gonna mess up again". My saying is this, stop complaining and let this all unfold. I hope for the best that the Jets go back to their competitive nature like before, but always be prepared for the worst.
Wasn't implying anything. Just being sarcastic. Their timing is perfest, with the EPCOT flower and garden show in full swing... I'm trying to picture Sanchez and Holmes at Disney, giggling as they get wet riding Splash Mountain together. Sharing a turkey leg, then checking out the Princesses down by the castle and deciding which of those bitches they're gonna ride next....
The princesses will really test their teamwork. Can they share, or will one of them want all of them? Don't forget, they will be also be in line behind Brady for the water slide :breakdance:
i cannot wait to hear what rides they hit up at universal and whether they sit together or separately - can't wait to see the photos of holmes, keller, sanchez and turner going down Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls and freaking out on Dr. Doom's fear fall.
Sweet now with some positive energy and a decent coordinator we might have a shot. I would like to see the team like it was in 2010...then my username will make sense again haha.
