No but I'd certainly prefer an elite RT if you were going to grab OL in the first (Martin/Reiff if he falls). I'd also prefer Trent Richardson if he falls. Or Kuechly. Or Coples. The list goes on. There is just no way in fuck that the best we can do is add a stupid interior lineman with the 16th pick. If somehow we can't do any better I'd still much rather trade back and then get my overvalued passrusher.
Being one of the best QBs in history doesn't mean shit when it comes to putting a team together. Mike Ditka is an NFL legend and he traded an entire draft for Ricky Williams. Isiah Thomas is one of the best players in NBA history and he was literally the worst GM ever. That said, Elway didn't give up on Tebow as much as he realized that he will never in a billion years be as good as Peyton Manning. No shame in that for Tebow. And I say that as someone who despises this trade.
this is what I thought I had heard-Tebow makes $ 6 million with us next year !!!----and on top of all this we paid the Broncos $2.5million ? This is not a circus this is downrite insaine !
Tebow is being replaced by one of the greatest to ever play. The fact that Elway was a great player means nothing when it comes to talent evaluation. Michael Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever and he is an awful talent evaluator. Elway never wanted Tebow anyways so he didn't want to give him a chance because he doesn't want his team to play offense the way Tebow plays offense.
Approaching this as glass half-full. He pushes Sanchez to the level we hoped he would get to and he produces out of the wildcat...
Let me get this straight, you say sanchez sucks? Does that mean you think Tebow is a better qb? You said it right, he'll take 10 snaps at the most. Is that really worth a 4/6th rd picks and cash considering our needs elsewhere. If sanchez has 2 picks, do the tebowmaniacs chant for him? If sanchez is having a good drive, do we disrupt it for a gimmick play? If tebow is a "winner" [sic] then sanchez is more of a winner than he is. I don't believe in god (fairy tales) and i certainly don't believe in Tebow.
Who said we are finished addressing needs? Is it September yet? You are saying Tebow will make us lose 2 games against the Pats next season? Really ... come on man
After yelling at the top of my lungs in despair, I just came on here to start a thread called "Lets all be adults about this" but this is much better. How many running plays you guys think we will use Tebow in? How many plays per game do you think we see the wildcat/seminole/whatever the hell? Do we only use it when the scenario calls for it or is it an integral part of the gameplan? Do they inject aTebow play here and there just to keep certain fans happy? basically Im hoping that they treat this as a football decision as it should be, and keep the bullshit seperate from the x's and o's.
You will be supporting them both when Vlad is pancaking LBS and DEs as Tebow stomps down the field to another JETS FIRST DOWN.
So what the hell has Sanchez done thus far in his career including playoff games... (I dare you to use the comeback of "it was his run game and defense that did the work)
