I don't understand why we would owe $5 million for anything. If there's some no-trade clause in his contract that Tebow gets paid if he gets traded, that's on Denver, not us.
Mike Lombardi says Tebow deal isn't done Apparently the Broncos expect the Jets to pay them $5M cash as part of the Tebow transaction. He doesn't believe any team would agree to that payment. So the trade could possibly be reversed.
Because it was an advance on future years salary. Why should Denver pay for a player not on their team.
Jets would make that back before OTA's. Its being talked about in the Tebow thread. You should have used that.
Anonymous sources in the Jets locker room think Tim Tebow should be starting for the Jets at QB after Mark Sanchez threw an interception against the Dolphins late Sunday afternoon and the Jets dropped to 3-1. "He's never going to be the man here making throws like that one" said one source. "They coddle him too much, Tebow should have been in on 3rd and 6 on the 15. He's the guy we got for those situations" said another.
Considering all the negative feedback the Jets are getting from their fans, players and press, now would be a good time to walk away and don't look back.
This is a no brainer. If the $5 million counts against the cap there's no way Jets do the deal, if it's just money out of Woody's pocket the Jets would be stupid not to pay it. The Tebow hype will be worth far more to Woody in advertising and sales then $5 when all is said and done. The same obviously can't be said about the Jags who are in a much smaller market with much lower revenue, so you can't make a comparison to that deal.
For some reason it looks like St. Louis will get Tebow if the trade falls through.. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...trade-hits-snag-contract-language-source-says
Tanny will make this happen. They can re-write the language. This is something that as a fan it is difficult to understand what is going on in the FO. Just let it happen. Tebow will be a Jet.
