No. John Elway said that Tebow wasn't the right guy to start in Denver and he wound up buried under a tsunami of Tebowmania. If Elway can't hold the line then there's no line to be held.

Tebow is going to be the Jets starting QB by mid-season next year unless the Jets manage to plug the holes at RT and WR and possibly one of the guards as well.

You can almost write it down.

You sound a lot like the Christian hating US government and the media. If people have the right to bash religion then why can't people talk good about it? Oh yeah, because it doesn't fit into the world's current liberal/marxist ideology.

Don't turn this into a religious bashing discussion, I can't stand how people hate Tebow just because he's religious. Does he go overboard in the public forum? Possibly, but there are many religious players in the NFL, on the Jets, and even on these forums not just Tebow. There's no need to bash religion.

Did not know that. Thanks for the info. Even so, as a 4th year business student even I am not that dumb.

If he's brought in and not allowed to compete for the QB job, there will be alot of backlash as well.

If the Jets are able to use him as a fullback and h-back, and maybe even situational tight end, defenses will never be able to predict a wildcat play by a personnel change. It would be deadly. Stupid not to use it.

Ummm...That's what I said. I was responding to someone saying we gave up 2 picks for him, I was pointing out that we also got one back.

And my point is the same, when it comes to the draft, effectively there isn't much difference between 6th and 7th rounders. Hell there isn't much difference between them and undrafted players. So the question is a 4th too much for Tebow, maybe a little.

You have to make the move. Do you really think Rex would make that move? Kyle Orton is making a lot less money than Mark Sanchez.

Its funny, everyone who Cro said we shouldnt get has been acquired (Landry & Tebow).

He should start saying we shouldnt have Justin Blackmon fall to #16 or the 49ers sending Patrick Willis to us for a 3rd rounder isnt a smart move.

This move happened for several reasons, first I don't believe the Jets FO wanted the pats to get him. The Pats have been trying for days to get Tebow. Bellicheck wanted to draft Tebow and finally had another chance to get him. This is purely my opinion. Also, this team has been in shambles since the close of the season. Noone wanted to come here of the top FA's, it has just been bad. I am sure the fo feel Tebow is the high character signing that could make an impact somehow.

Next and most important to me. I have read too many posts about Sanchez and what this will do to his psyche. Well, the mistake the fo has made with him from the beginning was not having anyone behind him pushing him. This resulted in him not progressing as much as he should have. Instead, we watched him slide backwards. To avoid the calls of the fans for Tebow, Sanchez now has to put the time in film, study, practice and then perform on Sundays. So, this signing will make him or break him! I hope it will wake him up and push him towards greatness.

I'm very concerned about the move. I hope that Rex sets the tone for Tebow's role, does not waiver, and does not let him sniff the QB position. Otherwise I can't imagine this helps this Jets team win a Super Bowl.

But Sanchez does? That is the problem. No one is annoiting Tebow as the starter, but to insist that Sanchez is untouchable is foolish.

Good trade which gives us more flexibility on offense. Essentially, it's costing a fourth since we're getting comp picks.

Easy now rudeboy, not every joke is how it seems (read the whole post, and honestly, if you think I'm party to the left wing agenda in this country you spend little time in the BS forum)

That's true, the only success in this move is with him at FB, TE, or RB. Maybe an occasional trick play or relief for Sanchez during a bad game, but with the cap hit is it really worth it to pay him starter money for being a trick player?

    Check it out...

    http://twitter.com/#!/ACromartie

    Last night:
"We don't need Tebow. We sell out every home game let him go to Jacksonville Tampa or Miami. Our wildcat offense can b ran by J. Kerley or Joe McKnight we straight"

    After Tebow signed:
"Y bring Tebow in when we need to bring in more Weapons for @Mark_Sanchez let's build the team around him. We already signed to 3 year ext."

    ESPN is already reporting it.

Our offense was terrible last year. The way I see it is Tebow can be an offensive weapon for this team. We badly missed the Brad Smith wildcat last year and in fact I was hoping we would draft a QB WR convert this year to replace Smith which we didnt do last year. So if handled right this can be a good thing.

The upside is this. We can use the wildcat to spark the offense and control the ball. It is an extra wrinkle that teams will need to prepare for and will cause confusion on the opposing D and that could lead to big plays.

The downside is this. The fan base will be very split over this move so one false move and the fans and media will be calling for Tebow to take the reins. I think it's very important that Rex is clear that Sanchez is the starter and Tebow will be used in the wildcat and specialty offensive player type role. The other downside is giving up two picks for him in a year we need depth. Not the greatest time to do so. Hopefully they can do something to at least get the 6th rounder back.
