Yeah, I completely agree. I mean all those draft picks that we’ve spent on RB’s have really panned out, right? You can say this all you want, but the fact is, is that we still dont have a #1 back on a ground and pound team. Thats like not having a NT in Rex’s defense or not having cover corners... I hate when people use this argument. Our track record for drafting RB’s isnt great to say the least, and if we can get a sure fire #1 back for a mid round pick, its an absolute no-brainer.
Greene is a solid running back. He pushes the pile and burns defenses on the outside. Greene is an excellent second half of the year running back. He excels in later weeks and he can really wear on opposing defense late in the season and in the playoffs. Greene really cleaned up his fumbling problem and has turned into a great possession back that can truly hurt our opponents. He's is a bulldozer, burner and corps running back. Greene has some glaring weaknesses that will hopefully be addressed by adding any of the previously mentioned backs. Greene always starts slow. After playoffs year one (of greene era) everyone thought he was ready to carry the load and be our feature back. Greene can't catch for shit out of the backfield. Greene has gotten better blocking on passing plays, but he is not above average. Greenes vision is average, which he make up for by running people over. I mean greene has killed some defenders, lowering his head and running them over. To McKnight and Powell as backups, no. I am all for Stewart. I am all for bush. I am 120% all for MJD.
All we need is a good 3rd down RB who can catch passes; similar to LT.... I think McKnight could handle that role. Im confident that Greene can handle most of the workload. we should be spending this money to sign a RT or #2 WR.
^i agree with you on RT, but totally disagree with you about McKnight. He's a #3 running back, #4 receiver, special teamer and great utility player. He can't carry the load, too fragile. This is the party for run heavy offense. Keep the stewart and bush talk alive. Ground 'n pound!
i don't see how you can watch greene play and describe him as a bulldozer or a burner. i don't know what a corps rb is. but he's probably not that either.
i see a bulldozer as something that takes on an obstacle, obliterates it and moves along. greene runs into guys and then is brought down, fairly easy for a guy his build. that's probably the most frustrating thing about him. the way you describe him is the way he should run. but he doesn't. he doesn't punish people. he just runs into them because he can't change directions. then he falls. or his helmet flies off.

Say what you want, facts are facts... Just go back to that BJGE thread where you first called me out, or even the Tebow one where I provided stats. Whatever... sorry everyone for disrupting this thread! Jonathan Stewart should be the one we should be trying to trade for rather than Tebow. Sadly the FO is sidetracked by what could make the front page.
Stewart will demand a lot more from the JETS than Tebow. Not saying we should make a move on Tebow, I just do not think it is worth trading picks for a RB. Your RB need can be addressed via draft or FA.
^basically, we have and they have not shown much promise. They cannot carry the load and they show little promise as feature backs. McKnight has shined for us on special teams and he has made plays for us on the ground and as a WR. I see McKnight as an excellent 3rd running back in our rotation, a fine special teamer and a pretty good utility option or play maker in the trickery game. Greene definitely has a second gear and he has shown he can burn teams on the outside. Watch some of the games. Watch the play-offs against Cincinnati, San Diego and New England
if we are willing to give up a third on tebow than this Stewart deal should be a no brainer...if the option was there...
I highly doubt the Panthers are willing to just trade away their RB for a 4th round pick. He is worth a 2 IMO.
Well I guess with this Tebow trade, the likelihood of us trading for Stewart is at about .001%. Its sad, because he would actually be worth it and would make a huge impact.
