Landry was the highest rated safty free agent that wasn't franchised. We signed him to a low risk 1 year deal and people are still finding reason to bitch about it o.0

    This.

The dude's a bodybuilder, not a football player, and bodybuilders are worthless at pretty much everything except lifting weights and flexing. I know he was pretty much The Jets only option at this point, but I only see him playing a few games until he gets hurt, or suspended for substance abuse, and then they're looking for someone to play this position again next offseason.

Landry doesn't begin to solve our safety coverage problem. He's a big hitter, and nice in run support but we still don't have a safety that can cover anyone.

    Reggie Smith/OJ

Hopefully one of those two get signed.

Signing is also a hell of a lot cheaper than I thought it'd be. Can't go wrong..hope he returns to his pro bowl form

At least he is a good tackler. Our secondary has been horrible at tackling with the exception of Revis...

So who is it that people want the Jets to target and that they are failing to snag?

So far as I can see there are no top flight safeties available in free agency.

All we can do is target the players that are good, available and affordable and there are very few that tick those boxes.

We should be glad we upgraded over E. Smith, but if we sign Otogwe I'd be much happier.

RT @joereedy: Per league source, Reggie Nelson will earn $6.5 million in the first year of his four-year, $18 million deal with #bengals

He wasn't worth it...glad we have Landry even more now.

yeah Im guess the Jets offered him the same as Landry - $4M a year and then he went back to Cinci and they upped the offer.

If we can get OJ or Reggie Smith for cheap then it may have actually been a blessing not signing Reggie Nelson

And we know that all injury situations play out the same.
