Fair enough, however he also was still chipping in some catches, and I dont think that Bush would be the main guy here.
Yeah, Bush certainly wore down as the season went on. However, it's a moot point because he wouldn't be getting the 25+carries here that he was getting in Oakland. It would be 10-15 each for Greene and Bush. I certainly wouldn't be against the move if it came cheap. I like Bush a lot. However, don't go into this thinking he'll be our starter...he's really not much better than Greene imo..both are serviceable rbs, but not stars.
Why do people keep saying we have bigger needs then RB? We are a ground and pound ball club. Everyone knows we dont have a QB thats gonna slig it all over the field. A back field of McKnight Greene & Green-Ellis would be punishing.
Truth That's true, we don't have that kind of money. Just don't think BGE is worth the bit we do have. I like Greene and think McKnight would make a good complimentary back.
You can't have above average at too many positions or you'll go over the cap. Get an above average offensive line and an average runner will look like a superstar. So will an average QB. Also, a strong OL and 2 bruising RBs will wear down an opposing defense pretty quickly. That's ground and pound.

Green-Ellis isn't a receiving threat (his long reception this year was a product of his patience (very underrated quality of his) and excellent downfield blocking) and his pass protection isn't the best. He's an average speed runner who has very good vision. He'll find the hole and hit it but he isn't going to break any tackles or outrun someone. He knows how to hang onto the ball, too. His production has been pretty good for us outside of being injured/relegated to short yardage and goal line duty late last season (turf-toe that didn't heal and Ridley emerging with 5.1ypc). Announcers always note that he is the back who won't lose yardage. He might get you 0 yards but he will very rarely go backwards. He doesn't dance around. He lets his blockers get on their guys and hits the hole. Best way to describe him is smart. He knows how to do his job but he will never be the best at it. He also benefited greatly from our offensive efficiency in 2010 when he had his breakout season and 2011 until he was injured and we saw what Ridley could do and started giving him more carriers later in the year.
No fumbles is huge, but I think Green Ellis is more of a product of defenses being affraid of Tom Brady going down field, which opens up the run. I like Michael Bush though!
I would really like to possibly trade up a get Trent richardson. He could be a great workhorse back;.
I have only seen him in limited coverage, but I saw him break more tackles than I wanted to, if not for long gains. He's not your classic power back, but he can hold his own.
I agree and especially why do they say we need a receiver? Ryan would like to run the ball 50 times a game.
If he's there at 16 I would take him, but they can't trade up as they have gaping holes at safety, OT, and LB.
I like the law firm, nice reliable back who did well in NE despite not getting many touches. Might be an interesting signing.
If BJGE wants to actually be a real running back and not play second fiddle to TB then he should sign here.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis is not even a good NFL back. He had one season, and for most of last year, he was terrible. He got a quarter of his yards in two games, against us, and against the Raiders. The rest of the way? He averaged less than 2 yards a carry in 4 games. Less than two yards a carry. I'm willing to bet Bilal Powell can do better. -X-
