Hate to be responsible for giving the Pats a 4th round comp pick in 2013 but Green Ellis is sure handed, is great for YPC and of course HE WOULD NOT KILL THE JETS as a Jet!(Well hopefully). This dude murders the Jets every single time. I would sign him just to keep him away from the Pats. We should sign him and have it be BJGE/Greene/Powell/McKnight. Then we can address WR, OLB, and S in the 1st 3 rounds.
I wouldn't mind him or Bush. This would really bolster the backfield and make up for the loss of LT's recieving skills.
I like this guy. His never fumbling is huge. And the Jets can't rely on Greene alone. It would be a nice combo.
I was hoping for Tolbert but I wouln't mind having a sure handed back like him... depends how much $$$ he's asking for.
Please no. Let's pick up a rookie free agent after the draft shakes out. There are always a number of talented backs who don't get signed.
Why not give Mcknight & Powell a shot? Sorry the law firm is an average work horse. Unless he's a clear upgrade as well as a 3 down player(he's not), I don't see the point of this move. use the cap space on a linebacker or OL depth,.
I can't believe this. Why don't we sign all the mediocre players in the league while we're at it. The law firm is one of the few backs who isn't an upgrade from Greene
He is but I am guessing NE would get a pick due to the signing in 2013 though maybe not a 4th round pick(Just a guess).
I like BJGE mostly because he's much more durable at this point in his career given the reduced wear-and-tear as a Patriot RB not having to carry the ball 30 times a game.
I think we should stay away. The only reason the Pats running game is effective is because of Brady's passing threat. He's not really a ground and pounder, more of a quick, split the gaps guy. If we pick up another back not in the draft, it should be a bruiser type.
He is an average hard running workhorse type. He also ahs never fumbled in four years. He would be a great compliment to what we want do on offense if he signs here. Wearing teams down and eating up the clock. He is also a good pass blocker as a RB and thats a big plus. I would like the move if not for too much money. Greene is good but we need several healthy options to be a run first team.
A clear upgrade over what? Shonn? I doubt we are looking for an upgrade so much as someone to supplement the backfield at a relatively low cost (presumably). One where we have an oppurtunity to add someone that does not fumble.
We dont have the MONEY to sign all the premier players? How come you would not take BGE if he came cheap as an option to supplement a backfield that has no shining star right now? He never fumbles (literally).
