seems an odd decision to go there over the Niners - I wonder whether Smith will sign with the Niners, I heard he is massively po'd with them so that could leave the niners starting Kapernick next season.
Smith has already been in talks with Miami. I don't see any way he re-signs with SF now, but I've been wrong before.
The Jags won't go there at this point IMO. They just added Henne to Gabbert... I really think the Phins are gonna be his landing spot, or he goes to the Pats to play RB.
Smith would be doing the 49ers a favor if he leaves. He's not worth 24 mil over 3 years and they'll be looking to replace him after this year.

It's not like Denver had a QB of the future so it's a low risk move for them. I don't expect they'll win anything w/ him but it's worth a shot.
I would have thought Denver would be his third choice...he probably would have won a SB with SF or had a chance to ultimately own the team in Tennessee. Now I don't expect much from Denver.
