Jacobs + and injury prone Greene in a ground and pound offense? This offense would make my eyes bleed. I hope we can pick up a speed back that can hold onto the ball (unlike McKnight).
To answer this question, what is the point? With no qb, you dont go out and get better wr's. Just load up on hb's, and try to avoid throwing the ball until you get an NFL caliber qb. In other words, time to sign Brandon Jacobs.
Sometimes I read posts like these, and I really wonder if I should be hanging out here. I feel like I'm getting a contact retardation.
You do know only two quarterbacks in the last ten years have won the Super Bowl with a team that wasn't the one that drafted them? The last being Drew Brees after the Chargers gave up on him with Brian Schottenheimer as the QB coach. Maybe they're laughing at ignorant Jets fans who don't understand football and don't understand that it is a process... a marathon if you will. Free agency is a sprint... team's dont win through free agency and quick moves. Jets fans are spoiled in that we've had for the most part an extremely aggressive general manager whose tried to make this team a contender. The Jets will come out looking golden from sticking with their talent rather than overpaying for someone elses castoff.
The Total value is 15 over three years, with a 6 mill cap hit next season or 2.3 in Dead money if cut by the third day of the NFL bussiness season. You know he singed for 5 mill a year, so don't act like he only got two.
I would potentially trade the 2013 first rounder for him, especially with his low cap number for this year.
My issue was always about cap number...who the fuck cares about non cap totals? I said he was coming back and he was coming back cheap...many others vocally disagreed. Time to swallow some medicine.
Nobody's happy with mediocrity. We just are not stupid enough to believe the entire blame falls on Sanchez or that the sky is falling, simply because he's QB. Can you name a single player on the offense this year other than Sanchez & Greene that actually improved their stats from last season overall? I bet you can't. It's funny because people put the lionshare of the blame on QB or RB, because they are too simple minded to understand that they aren't the only ones that drive the offense. The offensive line, TEs, WR core, and calling plays that stretch the defense, is integral to our success as an offense as well and virtually every player on offense had a weak season last year.
