Why have another WR that Sanchez can't get the ball too? We better just sure up the D and pray he gets injured.
I always wonder why people bash Jet fans so much, but these past few weeks of Manning, Sanchez hate, etc have really made me understand why. Its a shame too since there are plenty out there that know what theyre talking about, but for the rest its what I like to call "a resident of extremely-negative-land". Wishing for a player to be injured? Especially on the team you root for? Borderline insanity.
The Sanchez hate is always there, I just think it's funny to look back at the last week of regular season and all the people at that time that were calling for his head. A lot of the same people that are now sticking with him like they've had his back the whole time. I just see his potential as very limited, and I think it will take at least 2 more years before he reaches the pinnical of that of limited potential.
The D-line was the biggest strength of the team last year. Wilkerson really held his own as a rookie with no OTAs, etc. cause of the lockout. Pouha was a stud as usual. Rex's d-line aren't supposed to rack up sacks. WR is one of our biggest needs. We currently have Holmes (a #2) and Kerley (unproven, but could be a very solid #3) on the roster with Patrick Turner. I'd say receiver is a pretty big need.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. If the Jets are able to sign Pouha prior to FA then obviously what I said was wrong. If he hits free agency, I would be surprised if we were able to keep him. Sanchez being extended and freeing up cap space causes you to say "told you so"? What?
As much as i'd love a reciever like Wallace I worry that Sanchez won't get him the ball like in Pittsburgh. Hang me if you want but i'd love to add Jacobs at RB and,if healthy, bring back Braylon and use the money saved to improve the O-line. I realize others will say Jacobs is a Greene type running back but with Greene Jacobs and the shifty McKnight I would say that we'd be beating the hell out of opposing defenses.
I'm one of those people. It's called frustration buddy. I rewatched several losses, it's clear Sanchez wasn't the biggest problem on this team and is getting too much blame after reviewing the footage.
I'd rather invest in Williams. Dude is a stud. WR is one of the easier positions to draft. Michael Floyd anyone?
Big Floyd fan. Only thing stopping him from being a top 10 pick is his character issues, which I read are pretty minor. Wouldn't mind him at 16 at all. Although, I'm pretty sure WR is one of the hardest positions to draft. I remember reading a study awhile back saying WR have the toughest transitional period going from draft to the pros, while running backs had it the easiest. Could be wrong on that, I'll double check.
I think Sanchez has lots of potential. He just needs to stop acting scared in the pocket and stand up tall, straight, and relaxed like Brady
He had much better pocket presence before his RT was a turnstile and he lost his all-pro center to an UDFA rookie. He really lost confidence in the pocket last year during the stretch without Mangold. At one point he appeared to be regaining confidence in his o-line, but the 2nd Pats game seemed to kill that.
I said throughout the thread that I thought Pouha would be signed at a reasonable cap number for this year. I said the Jets WOULD be able to afford him and that my read was he'd be willing to work with them to come to a reasonable arrangement and likely finish out his career a Jet. Not the biggest deal in the world or anything.
Yes, the D-tackles played well. I would not go crazy about their play. BUt the fact of the matter is the Jets need pass rushers. Ellis was serviceable for a couple of years but since then it's been non-existent.
I'll still be shocked if he doesn't at least test his value in free agency. Unless the Jets are going to make him a monster offer, his agent has to be on drugs to not let him test the market.
They bash Jet fans like you who are happy with mediocrity, especially at the QB position. Im sure they are all laughing their asses off knowing that the Jets extended this guy. However, i would agree with Darelle if this team had a decent backup. Not Mark freaking Brunell. Thats one guy Sanchez would beat out any day of the week.
