The mutant shit is a masterpiece by Tannenbaum, not by Schottenheimer.

For the record, Callahan is working in Dallas with Cowboys, not in St. Louis with Rams.

(Then, I don't know what kind of running scheme St. Louis will run under Jeff Fisher. Maybe it will turn out to be yet another mutant shit again.)

  2. 2.45 mill is peanuts for a starting tackle in this league guaranteed or not.

Hunter was kept around as a "hold the fort" option until something better comes along. At the very least he IS a good back-up swing tackle. He's just wildly inconsistent as a starter.

The Jets getting anything for Hunter is doubtful but St. Louis could be an option, as they are desperate for Tackle help & Hunter is familar w/ Schotty's system. Even a 6th or 7th rounder would be a gift.

Let's say there is a capable RT free agent.

    You are the Rams GM.

Are you telling me you will go for Wayne Hunter in favor of that capable RT, because Hunter has some experience with Schottenheimer? Oh my GAWD.

I'll be happy if and when we get both of these done.

Why do so many of you continue to lick Tannenbaum's asshole?

I mean, I suppose one of these cap rich teams could trade a 2014 7th round pick to use him as a backup?

    Exactly.

How is this good news? This trounces the potential Pouha signing.

  8. I already said the Jets getting anything for Hunter is a long shot.

As for the Rams?Who knows..one way to improve O-line play when it gets to the subpar level the Rams are at is to improve depth. If I'm the Rams GM..Maybe Hunter isn't my starter but bringing him in as a back-up swing tackle who has experience in the offensive system is an option to assist in getting the problem fixed.

Tanny: Hello Tom, Mike Tanenbaum - New York Jets, I just wanted to touch base and check on your clients level of interest in quarterbacking for the New York Jets.
Condon: So long as you have that turnstile at right tackle the interest is zero.
    *click*
    *dial tone*
*Tanny sends fax to all teams in the league to put Hunter on the trade block*

I'd prefer to keep Hunter as a backup and draft a RT if possible. I don't know the cap ramifications or if it is even possible but if it is I'd love him back as a backup.

Really? Tannenbaum told our OC what kind of scheme to run? Please.

Signing Pouha is good news. The news on Hunter seems odd and puzzling. The source is questionable regarding Hunter. Pouha's situation makes sense.

The benefit is that we know what we have in Hunter and we have NOTHING else at the moment. You cut Hunter and you're forced to draft an OT in the first two rounds. Hunter looked damn good prior to last season. He's a better man blocker than zone and guess what...Sparano preaches man schemes. I'm not defending Hunter, just the logic of not creating a gaping hole when we have 2 at safety and arguably 2 at LB.

That's right, go ahead and pick fights by arguing logically.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you have elected to forego buying car insurance? Medical insurance? For those that own homes, have you passed on homeowners/fire/floor insurance?

I haven't cause I'm a little concerned I may have a a car crash, or my house will burn down, or someone in my family may get sick.

And if you are too dense to see the symmetry of my post - Tanny kept the turnstyle on board as....ready....

    INSURANCE!

Just in case they couldn't find someone better than him.

All of you stop your bitching cause I'm pretty sure we would have kept WH at RT instead of letting Ducasse in there without an offseason competition in the lest....while STILL going out and looking for a an upgrade.

How would you feel about starting the season with Ducasse at RT with nothing but scrap heap players behind him.

I did not know until reading your post today that Schotty and not Tanny was in charge of personnel decisions on the Offense.

Seriously, that is total bs. The extent to which some people go around here to blame Schotty for everything is just amazing to me.

Tanny is the GM. If he in fact deferred to Schotty, which of course is not the case, but let's say it did, that is STILL on him.

In my job, if my boss gives me a job to do, and I tell my assistant to do it instead, and she fucks it up, do I get to avoid the blame for that?

Some of you people need to spend more time in the real world.

Schottenheimer had his share of fuck-ups, (mostly play designs and play calls - like 3rd and goal at 2 yard line and calling shotgun) but the likes of letting Cotchery and Edwards walk, and watch the OL get depleted shouldn't be pinned on Schottenheimer. That's the work of the genium GM that is Tannenbaum no matter how you slice it. (At least we seem to agree this much.)
