If he goes to the Fins the Jets won't make the playoffs (probably a losing record) and Sanchez will be that much closer to being out the door anyway.

I'll take Manning for a much better chance at a SB and worry about the QB situation in a few years. Anybody here that thinks the Jets are contenders having to go against Brady and Manning for 4 games is nuts.

I feel the Jets need to get him just to keep him away from the Fins.

With that said if he goes to the Fins they will win the SB, if he goes to the Jets he will get knocked out week 1

So you want the Jets to mortgage the future to prevent the Fins from winning a Superbowl even though you don't think we'd win one with him? Wow.

I really hope the people positing the "dome only" theory for peyton's destination don't seriously think this professional athlete is that much of a pussy to only want to play indoors at the expense of having a better shot at winning a SB.

    Here's a fact for you:

From 2005-2010 Manning has a 26-9 record in outdoor venues, which is basically around the same ratio of wins to losses he has had across the board for entire seasons having seven consecutive 12+ win seasons or whatever the number is.

Agreed!! Wayne and Manning sign with Dolphins. Wayne said he wants to finish his career in Miami cause he has a house there and also went to the U of Miami! on Micheal Irving Show! Were done when they both go there sorry to say but we have we could match up cb to wr wise but not the box with them running bush and thomas and with manning. We would need manning to get hurt!

This would be amazing!! Manning says ill only come to the Jets if you put a roof on MetLife! I wonder if they would do it?? Hell we would sell out every game when its climate controlled and more Superbowls too!

Yeah, that look at the season was a good post. Neither unit does things irrespective of the other. The defense in 2011 was often put in a bad position by the offense.

So if Peyton goes to the Fins, Sanchez will have a poor season? I fail to see the connection here.

Peyton in Miami = Sanchez not a capable QB?

I seriously doubt Rex will now start getting swept by the Pats and Phins. History suggests a split.

Miami will presumably better with Manning, but if you think this regime is ready to lay down and not take their best shot this offseason, you have a different perspective of them than I do.

We are going to get better and younger. The only unit that is in complete disarray is LB and we still have a top 6 (or so) ILB signed for a while

If the Phins get Manning just know Woody will try and do whatever it takes to get a stud QB

    New England- Brady
    New York- Manning
    Miami- Manning

our 3 biggest rivals with dominant QB's while we have what many call a game manager

Isn't it funny how we beat Manning and Brady on the road in back to back weeks in the playoffs 2 years ago? w/ Sanchez no less.

Outside and playing in cold weather are 2 different things. Playing outside in jacksonville or tennessee is one thing, playing outside in east Rutherford or Foxboro is another.

Thanks junc. Came across this site before but didn't bookmark for some reason. Still having trouble finding weather related stuff but I'm sure you reported it accurately.

jerseyboyisback, fuck Daniel Thomas. Are you kidding? That is the last guy that sees the field for the Phins I would be worried about.

As long as we don't have 10 3 and outs to start a game so our defense is gassed. I'll be ok with Sanchez

Peyton Manning is one of the smartest players in NFL history, he can learn any system if he has from now until September to do so. The rust is a definite factor as well.

I have no doubt he will learn a new system but he won't know it inside and out like he does his old system and it's a transition for even the smartest QBs to play in one system for 15 years then all of a sudden play in a new one w/ new players and new scenery.

Agreed. I guess my point is I think Manning would do well here no matter what but at the end of the day I don't think it's worth not upgrading the rest of the team (probably even downgrading some parts) to take a gamble on Manning.

I don't understand the theory that Peyton Manning is tough enough to start over 200 consecutive games in a league where 300 pound monsters are trying to murder him on every play, but he's not tough enough to play 4 or 5 games in cold weather.

Also I'm not even sure why I'm bothering discussing this, we're probably the least likely of all the teams interested to land him for several reasons

I disagree. If he truly is limiting himself to an AFC team and its about winning and not the money than the Jets are his best option.

I'd say Texans if those are the two qualifications.
