Heard them discussing this article about the Jets in the Chad Henne market on Boomer and Carton this A.M. and I didn't see this posted yet.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...er-to-add-qb-henne?module=HP11_headline_stack

Despite his physical ailments, he would have a leg up on Sanchez in terms of knowing Sparano's system. It would definitely make for a competition.

It also sounds like this article is all speculation with little inside information to back it up.

I would not want this guy starting though...

There wouldn't be any competition, he'd be coming in as a backup. There's no way Chad henne would ever beat out Mark Sanchez under any circumstances. i'm all for bringing him in as a backup, he would provide no threat against Sanchez.

Then that sort of goes against everything the Jets have done with the lame duck Brunell behind Sanchez.

Evidently the team believes a competition QB to nudge Sanchez and say, "Hey asshole, if you throw another pick 6 straight to a defender, I'm coming in the game..." is what Sanchez needs to get to the next level.

I'd rather we bring in Brady Quinn to back up Sanchez, but I would be okay with Henne.

This is all speculation from the media. Of course it makes sense that the Jets would be mentioned, not only do we get mentioned what seems like every free agent, we now have his former HC as our OC.

Henne would obviously be a much better backup QB than Brunell, but so would pretty much anyone.

I don't want Henne at all. That vagina on his forehead would distract Sanchez all season long.

Am I the only one who doesn't want him on this team? We are not the Miami Jets.

No you are not, i do not see this as an improvement of the team at 5mill, or just below.

The similarities in both QBs situation (although i hold sanchez higher but not by enough) means this is only a massive distraction.

either solve the Sanchez situation or bring in a real experienced back-up to support him as our QB.

No, they want someone to provde some motivation not to slip up. Henne has starting experience and he can provide that but there will not be any competition. Sanchez is much better than henne and this is Sanchez's team. Henne would give us a good option if Sanchez is dinged up, I think if we had a real backup(I like Brunell and I think he was valuable to Sanchez) Sanchez may have sat out a game or two to recover from some of those beatings he took.

I don't know, it has to be at least as large as Kim Kardashian's. Nostalgia could come into play in this scenario.

They better not pay that scrub 5 million. Sanchez should be much improved come next year. The organization now knows he cant do it all by himself.

Paying Quagmire $5mill to be Nacho's backup seems like a waste of money when there are a lot of cheaper options out there.

    LOL.....

    Whatever.

But, if we step back and realistically analyze the 2 QB's or if any non-biased scout analyzed the 2 QB's, it would certainly be a lot closer than you thing and each QB brings some plusses and minuses to the table.....

And I know how you are going to throw Sanchez playoff record at me - But, TEAM aside, what these guys have done on the field as a QB reading a defense and making plays, there is no Knockout here at all.. .It's a COMPETITION......

The better option would be to pick up Henne and cut Sanchez. Henne is a better QB at a much cheaper price. Neither are attractive options but Henne is cheaper and not over priced

The problem with picking up Henne is no matter how much he outplays Sanchez he will be unlikely to start until Sanchez fails on the field which means around mid season.

Last year there was a lot of pre-season buzz about improvements Henne made. He started the season on fire before his injury. He may have a bigger upside than Sanchez in at least there is still some doubt as to his ability. While most people know Sanchez is horrible and that will not change. Henne may be prone to mistakes like Sanchez but unlike Sanchez he can throw out of the pocket. He could make Holmes, Kerley and Keller relevant and be more than a play action manage the game QB.

The other advantage is Henne will allow us to transition to a new QB in 2013. This will likely be Sanchez's last year as a Jet. I don't see anyway he can survive another bad year in this market especially at what we pay him. 2013 should bring us a high QB draft pick. Henne would allow the pick to sit the bench for a year before he takes over in 2014.
