Why do people think Rex saying stuff like this takes away from his preparation? The two are not mutually exclusive, thus the phrase "shut up and play" really makes no sense. You guys think Rex doesn't do everything he can to get this team ready? His mouth is just part of who he is. He is one of the best coaches in the league.

I remember Joe Walton once said something like "next year we need to be more serious about one of those wild card spots".

It struck me then as aiming pretty low.

    Give it a fucking rest.

Some of the most highly acclaimed coaches in this league were "1-13", etc as you put it.

There's more to winning the VLT than just coaching, doesn't make him not a good coach because he hasn't won the SB yet.

Also to clarify your point, Ewbank didn't win a Superbowl until his 6th season and he was 5-8 his first 3 seasons.

So what -- his point is that it takes time and winning the VLT is not easy, doesn't make him a bad coach. 31 other coaches were "failures" this season, to insinuate they're bad or not good because of that is laughable.

Ah RRs contract is up in 2013 & if this upcoming season is as dreadful as the last RR will not be renewed. Also who cares about any other coach in the league? I am sure RRs #1 job qualification is winning a SB so the FACTs are that so far he has failed making him so far a FAILURE 0-3 & counting

And Weeb was a FAILURE 0-5 and counting going into 1968. If it were up to you he'd have been fired before he ever had a chance to be the GREATEST coach in Jets history.

Yes that is a fact but so what he did win the CHAMPIONSHIP right. Times these days are way different with PSLs & all & the facts are RRs contract is up end of 2013 season & if 2012 is another down season as all indicators are pointing then IMHO either RR will be a lame duck HC in 2013 or Woody will axe him end of 2012 season & my guess is the axe end of 2012 season. I would bet very, very quietly Woody is already scouting around for the HC to replace RR

Your coach evualation skills are questionable at best after your lack of support of Weeb after 5 years IMHO

How could you even compare the two? Coslet was an arrogant big mouth who never accomplished anything for the Jets.

Rex has done a wonderful job changing the culture of this franchise, to the point where 8-8 is unacceptable. Coslet? His greatest achievement was 8-8 in two of the four seasons he coached this team.

Fans truly can be so clueless.

He also has more playoff wins as a head coach than the combined wins of the 9 Dolphins head coaches not named Don Shula.

If the Jets don't win the VLT in 1969, the AFL likely goes under in a few years without a merger. The pressure was far higher back then than it is now. And that was with a lot fewer teams to compete against during the regular season.

Good job trying to dodge your terribly flawed logic. And when I say 'good job', I mean childish and pathetic job.
