since his injury, grant might be the worst starting RB in the league, he never was anything special anyway, and he turns 30 this year. i'd pass
There are not many, better, prospects to add depth to our backfield (which I think is needed). Ray Rice will obviously be franchised, Matt Forte will be too expensive, Michael Bush is a possibility (if happy to operate in a committee), Peyton Hillis is too injury prone, same with Kevin Smith, then you are pretty much down to Grant or Cedric Benson.
There´s a ton of guys who should come cheaper, and i´d rather have for depth over grant, like Snelling, Khalil Bell, Maurice Morris, Derrik Ward, Mewelde Moore, Isaac Redman, Mike Tolbert, Justin Forsett, Earnest Graham, Norwood, Cadillac ok, i might not take everyone of these over grant, but you get the idea. i´ve seen worse around here
He's a local kid who had one good year, he's been injury prone. Sounds like a perfect fit for us. If he gets arrested, give him 3 years.
We saw some of McKnight last year, and somewhat less of Powell. Imo neither has yet to show they would be a good change of pace back to rotate with Greene. Greene has also shown some fragility, in addition to not being much good in the passing game. The Jets have also restated an interest in increased reliance on the running game. Add it all up and relying on McKnight and Powell to adequately complement Greene is just too risky, given the importance of the running game going forward. I expect the Jets will add a running back this off season.
Technically, this is worse than my thread about the Giants using shredded Jets chant paper. Just sayin'. :breakdance:
This guy could take a picture of himself shaking hands with a cardboard cut-out of Ryan Grant and it wouldn't be worse than your confetti thread.
A cheap one year deal would be cool. Nothing more... Greene should still get the bulk of the carries. McKnight's role should grow.
Why can't I sign on one day and find out that the Jets are interested in an offensive lineman? Randy Moss, Ryan Grant, here is a tip Tanny, you need some fucking o-line help so the skill position guys can do their jobs.
My Brothers BFFs barbers butt buddy is the third cousin of Carl Nicks garderner and he told him the Jets were interested. Happy?
I think this move would be stupid. Grant doesn't really upgrade the position in any way and would be a detriment to the limited cap space the team has available. I'll repeat my earlier stance on RB's this offseason: There should not be one brought in unless he is a 3 down player. Grant is NOT a 3 down player.
I asked the gardener about the claim. He declined to comment, citing league fines. There has to be something fishy going on.
