Sanchez was much more valuable to our playoff wins than Elli to your playoff wins.

You are grasping at anything now. From a backup defensive lineman getting paid starter money to qb wins.

He doesn't have 4 playoff wins. He quarterbacked a team that does, though.

Come on junc, are you really comparing a starting QB to a back-up, rotational DLineman?

You were the first person to mention Mark Sanchez in this thread. I can quote it for you if you want.

Really Shaun? So were the Jets not loyal when they paid you and not Abraham?

Was sorry as a Jets fan to see Ellis go.. He did have a great career playing for the green and white, But it was time to move on and his last season on the jets his stats showed he was slowing down. BUT why is it that when we lose a player they always seem to land on a team going to the super bowl.. Is it just me. GO JETS

Before I read any other comments I must say...

Shaun Ellis is DEAD TO ME....

the Jets offered you what they did because YOU ONLY PLAY 3 PLAYS IN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on riding on their wave but, to stick it back to the Jets is classless.

Hard to be 100% "LOYAL" and work a salary cap. Great call by Tannenbaum....

if Tanny made that same call and drafted a replacement at a few other positions the Jets would be fine.

LMAO, I am sure that will upset Ellis very much.

I would be upset with him if the Jets had offered him more than the vet minimum. I don't think they showed any loyalty to him by doing that. They had left over cash last year, and they can't use the need to get under the cap as an excuse. They made a business decision on him, and showed no loyalty to a player who got it done year after year for them.

Belichik obviously was in part motivated by the wish to stick it to the Jets, but frankly the Jets were at fault for giving him that opening.

We will see Ellis in on more than three plays in the SB.

I have no problem with Ellis. I am a Jet fan, but I am far from being fool enough to think them perfect in the way they handle players from time to time. This was not handled perfectly by them by any means.

Ellis made Millions from the Jets in his years here. His use of the "loyalty" excuse is absurd. Should the Jets have offered him more than the minimum? Sure. But he's out of line acting like they repeatedly screwed him over and showed no loyalty, especially considering the contract they gave him instead of paying John Abraham.

But they had also released Ty Warren. So, signing Ellis for a $5 million deal (with incentives) clearly means that they were expecting more than a minor role player. They didn't give that sort of deal to Mark Anderson. As much as Bill Belichick will talk about the "professionalism" he brought into the locker room, there's no question Ellis is a value disappointment.

Ellis had a great career with us but I think it was the right decision to let him walk. The pats picked him up to stick it to the Jets and possibly get some defensive info out of him. Same with Ihedigbo. It's not like they're serious playmakers.

up until now, for the last 2 years under Ryan, the Jets were the team to join as a player and free agent. Regardless of whether Ellis was over the hill or not, he was a team leader and hard working loyal guy. Jets need to be as professional to players on the way out as on the way in if they want to get back to a point where they are the team to join, especially with all the other crap that transpired this season, and so we can attract and keep the best players, FA, etc.

The Pats had no choice with Ty Warren, he was damaged goods.

Sure, it would have been great if Ellis turned in a Carter-like performance this year, but he didn't.

Well, then, that's different. If they were stuck and needed a solid DL with experience in the system, it's not so surprising they outbid the Jets. What IS surprising is that they probably negotiated against themselves.

weird how you seem to get so many pro-Jets posts on this board, its almost likes it a Jets and not a Patriots fans forum.

it will be interesting to see how the Patriots deal with Welker this off-season.

No Shaun, its because they got very lucky in the 6th round.

Brady >>>>>>> any other QB in the AFC East during Sean's career
