Sure why not? It's not like it won't help the team ON THE FIELD.

BTW, Holmes is no angel himself....just saying.

EDIT : you know....you're making it sound like he took a baseball bat, beat someone to hell with it, and served jail time with the "criminal assault convictions" comment. wait...PLURAL? I only heard the Lebron-James' lackey one....Didn't know he was convicted in another. Must've missed that.....please show me.

Because of the way he helped that offense go in 2010. And we saw how the offense was in 2011 without him.

I just want this team to be like 2010 again and the way to do it is to bring back the, IMO, key cog of that team.

    Ha ha. Very funny.

If they can't see that Braylon helped this team, they might not be worth arguing with.

That's not to say he is the only receiver that can do that - but he did it.

    True on all counts.

AdbulSalam paints Edwards as this TO-like Evil Being when we already have our own TO(without the Talent) in Holmes.

The thing that should make him a #1 Target for the Jets to go after is his already-built chemistry with Mark who needs a big year to justify him remaining on the Jets as QB for the future.

They just seem to be on the same page and also add in the fact that he draws defenders away from Holmes and Cotch(Kerley now).....plus he run-blocks like mad....

Braylon was much better catching the ball with the jets then people on this board give hime credit for. Everyone who dislikes edwards brings up his hands issues from the browns when it holds no weight with how he played for the jets. In 2010 he only dropped 4 of 66 passes, 6.06 percent. Tied for twelfth best in the league. Holmes and cotchery dropped 8 of 69 and 10 of 63. 11.59% and 15.87%.

It's not like the guy is going to command a big contract, and holmes was much better with Braylon on the other side.

I think Braylon off the field is a world class douchebag. But given the likely low price, and what he can deliver on the field I think he is worth a shot.

Phear, don't sweat it. That was just a dig at me by RutgersJet. He knows that BE had a great year in catching the ball. He just wants to rattle my cage. [IMG]

yeah he's no angel, that's for sure.

BUT unlike Holmes, he has not done ANYTHING that ended up being detrimental to the team on the field of play.

(and I'm sure some here would bring up his being benched in that Miami game for one quarter but that really didn't make much difference especially when the team was leading 14-0(If I'm wrong here, someone correct me) by the time he got back in the game)

Haha glad you caught it. I would actually support Braylon's return to the Jets. He had an amazing ability to stretch the field for us. Though I think with people watching all the highlight reels, we do forget how much dropped passes he had for us.

    Dropped passes happen.

That said, Braylon Edwards posted 6% drop ratio, which was around 12th.

Cotchery and Holmes were both all over 10%. (I think Cotchery was at 15%)

If 6% drop is 'many' then how do you say 15%? Cotchery drops all?

Actually, the only thing that drives me nuts is that he makes some spectacular catches, leaping up with multiple defenders hanging on him and still, with only one hand, pull in the ball. Yet, when he's wide open and the ball is perfectly thrown, he drops it. I always used to joke that maybe Sanchez should only throw him bad passes because they are the only ones he seems to catch.

Now that all said, I wouldn't object to us bringing him back.

You could insert most starting receivers and many backups where Braylon's name is. Not sayin' much.

I loved Braylon but he defnitely wasnt the key cog. The key was the offensive line.
