Don Martindale Former DC For Broncos Coming to Jets

    I have read and heard that Wink Martindale, the former defensive coordinator for the Broncos is coming to the Jets, but haven't seen anything in this forum.

    Anyone know anything about him? The news is a couple of weeks old and has been kept quiet.

    Per VicLombardi on Twitter.

    "Just got this one: Wink Martindale joining good buddy Rex Ryan as an assistant with the #jets"

    We all know that Mike Pettine is going to be thrown under the bus after next season's failure, so it makes total sense to line someone up now to take his place.

    Dude, Rex is going to tell the world about Pettine's head coaching potential. Definitely the next defensive coordinator for the Cowboys after Rob Ryan gets the head coaching gig in San Diego.

    Rob's not going to San Diego.

    Once Jerry Jones figures out that Rob is a complete fraud, he'll cut him loose and Rex will be there to scoop his younger brother up. Rob will take Pettine's spot after next season...mark my words.

    What makes you think that? Rex is going to be more involved with the defense this year. That us evident from his "I need to teach to be effective" comments he has made. Pettine was Rex's first hire. He was Rex's film and presentation guy in Baltimore when he started and they hit it off.

    I can't believe how short some peoples memories are. A year ago Rex could do no wrong. Now he gets a critizized for moves you think he will make.

    I have a source that told me specifically today, pretty reliable - caused me to research it.

    The source said after signing day they would announce it.



    I never realized the tweet i posted was from a year ago. Nevertheless, i was told today about him coming to the jets.
