Significantly better, don't be confused b/c you played lesser opponents in postseason. Hou has one postseason win in their history and they had a rookie QB who started the season as their 3rd stringer. They were better than the hottest team in the AFC in 2009. keep in mind SD had won playoff games each of the 2 previous seasons. Bal has had better reg seasons but the jets have been a better postseason team. Maybe we can get harbaugh for Sept-Dec and rex for Jan/Feb?
Rex was asked about this many times and in interviews along with his book, the Ravens were going to sign whomever stayed. Rex felt Lewis was the face of the Ravens and shouldn't leave. He had a long talk with Lewis and Lewis decided to stay as well. That's why Bart is here.
WR is not even close - Goes to '10 Jets by a wide margin. Same with OL. TE goes to Jets as well although closer in margin - Keller is a bigger talent and better weapon than Pitta/Dickson LB is even, maybe a '10 Jets advantage.. Lewis is aging and not the player he used to be. Sure the '10 Jets didn't have a LB as good as Suggs but overall Thomas-Scott-Harris-Pace in 2010 made up for the lack of Suggs. I'll give Ravens a distinct advantage ONLY in RB, DL, S
And from a QB perspective, Schaub is constantly in the top 5 or 6 talk of QBs in the league. So for someone so "elite" he should have been able to carry the Houston team on his back like everyone expects MS to do. The Texans have had a greater offense than the Jets since Schaub took over as a starter but they still struggle to get to the post season. If Schaub can remain healthy next year, there's a good chance they will be in the AFCCG next year.
In regards to HOU, YES. QB is not the strength of that team anyway... ELITE (top 3) RB, ELITE (top 3) WR and a good offensive line. On defense they have although young, a budding ELITE D-lineman in Watt, an impact pass rusher in Reed, an excellent LB and an excellent CB... I really believe that if Schaub stays healthy they would be in the SB this season and I really don't think Schaub is that great - that's how good I think Houston is.
All this Ray Lewis being so gracious after a crushing loss is ridiculous. If you killed a guy and never went to jail for it, I would be gracious in anything that happened to me from that point forward.
I could see maybe arguing a slight edge, but by a wide margin? C'mon. Boldin, T. Smith, L. Evans vs. B. Edwards, S. Holmes and J. Cotchery Again, I could see maybe arguing a slight edge but I don't see a wide margin. I will actually concede that Keller is a little better here, but I don't think it's a very wide margin. Sorry, the Ravens LB'rs are the better group, and it's not close. That becomes more important when you consider how much better there d-line is than the '10 Jets. It makes the Jets one glaring advantage (CB) almost irrelevant because they are built like a normal defense.
Ray Lewis is one of the greatest players of all time because he inherently has that attitude, it has nothing to do with who is coaching him. once again, insecure pussy Jet fans making something about Rex which has nothing to do with him.
So Belichick was the Belichick of the AFC North until he lucked into a guy named Brady. I'm sure you don't remember his first year in NE - 5-11, just in case you go way back to 2001...
What has harbaugh done that Rex hasn't? Rex has 2 excellent seasons and one average (not bad) and all we hear are little girls crying like babies. Maybe Rex will suck from here out, maybe he will be awesome. Nobody knows yet. But seriously, this place is like a grape farm with all the whining.
What a joke this post is. That 2009 roster wasn't even top 15 in overall talent. Is your main sport soccer or something? Because you seem kind of lost in the woods when taking about football.
The Ravens didn't pick Rex because they wanted a professional head coach to run the organization on the field. Ozzie Newsome and the Ravens personnel people have always been about doing things the right way and hoping they reap the rewards in the end. They do this because the team they are always chasing, the Steelers, is the most professional organization in football. Rex wanted great cornerbacks and had a loud mouth. That was two strikes against him from the start and the Ravens, like true professionals, didn't want to see the third pitch in that sequence - they wanted somebody who would work the count properly from the start.
Woot! The Miss Congeniality award for "contending" teams. At least Pats fans can rub one out in a couple of months about the rare-but-recent conference title they got this year after Eli and the vaGiants crush their desperate need for something completely out of their control to make them feel superior. Again.
Really? All I hear around this place is people holding up two losing AFCCG as proof of Jet greatness and you're gonna piss on the Pats for feeling good about winning a game the Jets never have? Is there a two drink minimum for this comedy show?
Remember when there were rumors that Rex might go after Ray Lewis instead of Bart Scott? I wonder what would have happened if he did?
