yeah, but there was a whole other half of football left. What is the excuse for professionals to give up after one scoring play?
Yeah, just imagine if the Jets had 14 guys on the IR like the Giants did. Come on man...sour grapes, get over it.
Abandoning the run when Gore is destroying them so they can constantly pass. Is Schotty on the Rams or 49ers?
Giants had an average season and went on a streak to get to where they are now. Football is the one sport where I can say luck can really benefit you more than any other. No 5 or 7 game series here. A great team can have one bad game and season over. Many times, the best team isn't the one who wins the Super Bowl.
say whatever you want about the Giants breaks ... Eli got the crap kicked out of him today, but still took care of the ball and made enough plays to win. there's no doubt in my mind that Sanchez would have thrown at least three INTs today.
The 99 yard TD was not a lucky play. His majesty's defense could not stop the Giants on a 3rd and long from their own 1. If not for having the best corner in the sport his defense would be a joke Don;t worry though, now the Giants and Pats have the real hard work..getting to back to back title games like Rex did.
59 attempts, zero picks. All while getting constantly pressured, hit, sacked what 8 times? playing on a shit field in cold wet conditions. But yeah, he's not good or something. If Sanchez had to play in a similar setting getting pressured as much as Eli was you wouldn't be able to tell the mud on the bottom of his uniform from the shit.
not to nitpick but the 9ers had 2 great opportunities to intercept Manning only to have their guys collide into each other on both occasions lol
I hear what you are saying, but still......would have, could have, should have. Things like that are often the difference between great and good. Manning played great considering the weather and the fact that he was getting hit all day. I hate him and never thought he'd become elite. I was wrong.
The giants also have about 5 legit pass rushers while the jets have... The TALENT is the difference. All the other stuff takes care of itself in the end. The great thing about Ryan is that he makes the team outperform their level of talent. Whine about breaks all you want, this is what it boils down to. Draft well, re-stock pass rushers/D each year we wouldn't be having this discussion.
And the Jets had two great opportunities to go to the Superbowl and...didn't. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. ZERO picks. That's what the stat line says.
Which is why it doesn't matter where a team ends up in the Regular season.....If they make playoffs, ANYTHING can happen.
C'mon now .. Mark was getting beatdown @ Heinz last year. down 24-0 at half and he played excellent in the 2nd half for a 2nd year QB. Pretty bad conditions as well...I believe Mark was the one who wasnt wearing a long sleeve unlike Big Rape. And Marks from Cali lol But Eli did play well, saying Mark couldnt is incorrect
