Cannot rely simply on Shonn Greene with his continuous injuries that come up or the projects with Joe Mcknight, Bilal Powell. Listening to Rex, he is stressing a "all weather offense" We need another talented HB to balance out with Greene...Someone with big play potential We really have to take a closer look at a HB in free agency http://www.footballsfuture.com/2012/fa/rb.html Guys in bold should be looked at closely
Attitude problems need not apply, which means Benson and Blount are out. The rest are worthy of a look.
I agree, we definitely need another rb, rice or forte would be sweet, hillis is a Rex type of back, I would be happy with any one of those three.
Clearly, I love Ray Rice. But what about Lynch? He was an absolute beast this year for a bad Seahawks team. He can be great behnd a good offensive line.
Never spend money on a free agent RB. Bring in Ronnie Brown for one year at the veteran minimum. Pile your available resources into the offensive line and the defense.
^ Correct, I hate the idea of the team spending so much money on a position with a tiny half-life that is so easy to replace with productive players.
agreed...greene avg 4.2/carry last year...i think we'll be fine w/ greene/mcknight and little bit of bilal...
It only makes sense if you're getting the guy when he's very young, and he's a special player. Curtis Martin made sense, but at this point we have bigger needs than running back. The only guy who looks like he would be worth picks and the money is Arian Foster, but we have other needs plus he plays in a zone blocking scheme iirc. Foster was pretty amazing this season, 1800 rushing/rec yards and 12tds in only 13 games. On a different note, Peyton Hillis would be a fun addition to our locker room.
Yeah but when someone brings up the idea of giving the best guard in the league 8 mil a year, everyone says “you cant invest that much money on the Oline”
Sure, why not? He knows Sparano's offense, he'd only cost half a million bucks and he could give you 6-12 productive touches per game.
Foster would be the best pickup available because he can only be tendered not franchised. They still got Mario Williams. It all depends though I hardly like foster because he plays in the zone blocking scheme.
I have faith in greene but he does have lingering injury problems mainly with his ribs. Maybe Matt Forte becomes available and Mike Bush is a helluva RB, Would be better without Greene because they have similar run styles.
I'm in. I'd rather beef up the oline with proven vets, draft some defense, and go cheap with the remaining skill positions on offense.
If the Jets are going to more of a power running base, they're going to need more than just Shonn Greene as their power back. His ribs get injured every season.
