The Jets were major players in FA the last 4 offseasons. How quickly we forget.....

To be fair we got Holmes (via trade which has blown up on us), Favre (which blew up on us), Cromartie (another very shitty trade), Derrick Mason (shitty move), Brodney Pool (didnt really work out), lost Cotchery gained Plax (downgrade), failed to get Asohole, Trevor Pryce (thats worked out amright), Jason Taylor, LDT (this im actually lukewarm on), lost Hartstock for Mulligan

Outside of stealing players from the Ravens when Rex came here, our FA transactions havent exactly been... impressive

What about Faneca, Edwards (via trade), I disagree about Cromartie who I think had a pretty good season, Damien Woody, Kris Jenkins, Aaron Maybin.

The Jets have been aggressive in the offseason over the past few years which is totally different from years before that. When you get FAs or trade for players it doesn't always work out but it sets a precedent for bringing in hot item free agents.

Wade Phillips failed times and again as a head coach - but then apples don't fall far from the tree. He is the son of Bum Phillips, who was another seminal thinker in 3-4 school, and that is showing in the turnaround Houston had this year.

They did add Johnathan Joseph through the free agency, but Wade Phillips made the entire defensive turnaround happen.

And Jets did pull off similar stuff already when Mangini was canned and Rex was hired - Jets defense soared all the way up to #1 spot.

Both Phillips and Rex had similar situation - a team underperforming, with tons of talents readily available. That's also exactly what's happening with the current offense. (That's been that way for years for now.) With right offensive mind, and a couple addition or two, this offense will explode too. (I am hoping Sparano can pull the magic he pulled with Dallas here.)

Jenks and Faneca didnt happen in the last 4 years. And in retrospect the Jenks trade was a complete and total bust for us (giving up 2 draft picks for a guy who spent most of his time here on IR)

Cromartie we gave up a 2nd round pick for, he cost us a shit ton of money, and guys far better (ie Jonathon Joseph) were available for less.

Just for giggles I thought id look through Peytons game logs, and he only had ONE game that (on paper) I would define as elite over his first 4 years.

And only about 5 over his first 6 years.

So before people start getting on marks dick about something as stupid as this, you might want to at least compare him to the guy who set the bar

Jenks and Faneca did happen in the last 4 years though
Jets signed Faneca to a 5 year contract March 1, 2008 (3 years, 10 months, 18 days ago).
Jets got Kris Jenkins February 29, 2008 (3 years, 10 months, 21 days ago),

And we cut Faneca (who we made the highest paid OL in nfl history) for Ducasse during that very same timespan, and as previously mentioned Jenks was
immensely injury prone during that span.

Neither of which can be considered great moves imo, although Faneca deserves credit for being a significant contributor to our very elite ground attack so maybe that was a very good move (although giving him an ultra high 5 year contract, not so smart)

You forgot to mention 'Dan Leberfeld' as you were plugging 'his' site.

I'd love to watch a compilation video of him saying it over and over and over and over...

The bar is set at Alex Smith's season this season for me. That's the season I want Sanchez to have next year.

It must be nice when your starting qb can have the 28th least passing attempts in the league

Wouldn't the 28th least be the 4th most?

If you thought sg3 was serious, then there's something "serious"-ly wrong with you. [IMG]

From what I gather from the press, seems like Mark the crapola Sanchez isn't the brightest guy in the world when it comes to reading defenses quickly and making adjustments or audible new plays to adjust to the defensive schemes in front of him. You have people say he studies hard and works hard, so perhaps it is a cerebral issue with him to understand complexities of the game - in his third year. The only way to win with him is carry a big bad defense and a top running game...yup, move the pressure away from Sanchez so he can play within the lower expectations. A real shame, since the league rules are so in favor of passing attack nowadays and we a stuck with a dud at QB.

From what I gather on this message board, seems like Jet the crapola Iron isn't the brightest poster in the world A real shame since TGG would be a much better place if half baked negative clowns like Jet the crapola Iron wasnt blubbering here
