No, most likely we will be playing the Monday night before then we will be kicking off the Thursday night schedule with our game @ Seattle four days later.
We are still traveling to that site so it's still a road game. It just won't be in front of Rams fans
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2011/09/sbj-london-to-get-two-nfl-games-in-2012/1 Sorry if this is old news or has since been discounted, but when searching for some info on this I found this old story - says there might be two games in London next season.
I appreciate it being annoying if its a home game but from a purely selfish perspective - w0000t I have been to quite a few of these (including the original American Bowl preseason games back in the late 80's as a kid - I saw (for 1 quarter) Montana vs Marino which was pretty cool in '92 I believe) and will certainly make the effort to see this. Its a great atmosphere as everyone there is an NFL fan and there is no trouble or partisan behaviour. Last year the niners handed out these flags on everyones seat that people were waving and the crowd was really pro-niners - a lot of the players said that the crowd was way more pumped up and behind them than their usual home crowd this would be the highlight of my year if it comes off.
If its a road game and its on a Sunday. So we don't get screwed like that Broncos game. Maybe have it after the bye week
Even as a UK fan I'd agree with this. I'd rather see the SB or Pro Bowl over here so as not to disrupt the season. Unfortunately the Jan/Feb weather would be total shit for the game.
London takes away the home field advantage of St louise as well as gives an opportunity to expand the jets fan base. Rowdy soccer fans would love Rex and is shoot from the hip attitude. International games are all about money, I see it annually first hand with the Toronto bills (side note the NFL should make the jets the bills Toronto opponent again and save me the drive to buffalo) the jets attitude should make them easy to market over seas. I also see the trip as a possible bonding experience, the jets could use some team building and playing this game early could be a huge help to the damaged locker room. End of the day unless the NFL does something stupid such as the Sunday night Thursday in Denver thing ( no excuses you play the cards your dealt but that was no doubt a shitty hand) I don't see anything negative coming out of this, so long asthe jets are considered the road team.
Agreed. For an entire year most fans will only get 8 chances to see their team on the field. Since its a RAMs home game, it's OK for us but you gotta feel for the RAMs fans. SB or Pro Bowl in London would be awesome though.
Wow, I was thinking of road trip to Seattle although this makes me think I can kill two birds with one stone if this happens. My dad has wanted to take a trip to the UK for years. Maybe this gives us the chance. Virgin Atlantic nonstop from Las Vegas!!!
Actually rowdy soccer fans generally hate 'American' football. Absolutely hate it. I have a lot of soccer fan friends and they all just laugh at my love of the NFL.
