Actually not at all what he says. The question wasn't even posed by Leberfield. And by elite, I think it means has he EVER taken over a game, and afterwards you go "Wow, Sanchez played his tail off that game." Sure, you can throw out games where he had a high QB rating, but was he really dominant in the Bengals playoff victory? (He wasn't). I'm not saying he has to put up huge numbers week in and week out, but this is 3 years now of football from him. The Houston game he was good, but it's really overshadowed by one really great play and series by Sanchez. I wouldn't say he was dominant in that game (or else they wouldn't have needed the last drive to win, it's not like the defense gave up 40 points.)

Relax, all I said was he wasn't the one who posed it. It was from someone else. Also not sure where all the hostility is coming from, it has a ton of inside information you can't get on the net. Again, I agree he played very well against the pats in the playoffs, but that win is on the defense. I know I probably sound like a Sanchez hater, but it is kind of telling that there isn't one game out of 3 years where he put the team on his back.
I'd say he had 2 very good performances against the Pats. He made too many good throws in last year's playoff game, with no picks. he's had other games as good as that, its just that they don't come consistently Given where he was picked and what you had to give up to get him, you guys SHOULD have high expectations of Sanchez. However while he hasn't measured up to expectations, he HASN'T been a bust either. The Jets problems were summed up well by a Jet fan in another thread. Too many high end contracts most of whom are good but don't play up to the money spent (Revis Harris, and Mangold being the exceptions) And not enough overall talent behind them. Getting Sanchez to play more consistently is ONE problem the Jets have to deal with, but certainly not the ONLY one, nor the most pressing. The Jets better pay attention first to re-establishing a good environment and locker room. And that isn't going to be easy given the HC, and cap constraints
How about the Bears game. The defense crumble and the offense kept us in that game. 38-34 bears. Sanchez led a handful of good drives. Keller dropped a TD pass and a Homes fumble. Those things aren't on Mark. Just the last INT was. I thought he played great that game considering the Bears D. Even though it was a loss, it was still a good QB performance. Yes I know 7 points came from Lowery's pick 6 but 7 points for the Bears came on Weatherford's brain fart trying to run a fake punt with 87 yards needed for a first down.
4 playoff wins and a fuckload of 4th quarter comebacks. He has had a bunch of shitty games, but that's called growing pains.
Not vastly different than Eli Manning's early years. Coming into this season each had 4 playoff wins, too, Eli with six extra years.
Precisely. Looking at other franchise QBs around the league, not many of them were dominating their first 3 or 4 years. Look at Tom Brady even, he was good not great his first 4 years, but nowhere near the QB he is today. It's becoming clearer and clearer that QB is a difficult position to master in a short period of time. You factor in our WRs slacking off on routes, the OL stinking it up, straying away from run game, and the severe shots Sanchez took this year it's remarkable how much blame he's getting.
He isnt here to be Aaron Rodgers, brees, or Brady. He had something those QB's dont. A running game and incompetent OC He's here to not fuck up. Which he still does
