AHAHAHAHAHAH I died laughing! WAY to Premature but it seems we are all bashing him HE HAS NEVER been a OC so lets take a trip and hope Sanchez starts Commanding this offense his damn self
Guy is VERY conservative. Also, he's never been an OC. Apparently, if you listen to Miami fans, he wasn't very good at improving the O-line.
Miami fans wouldn't know football if one hit them in the head. I know several Phin fans that wanted Sparano to stay as HC. I love the move.
Stop with this misleading bullshit. He was the assistant head coach in charge of offense under Parcells. He has offensive coordinator experience, and did well I might add (4th in the leage).
It was one season, and he was not the OC. He was also replaced by Garrett the next season. Couldn't have been doing that great a job. The Jets needed to get rid of Shitty, but I'm not impressed by this choice.
Assistant Head Coach >> OC Garrett was Jones's boy in waiting for a while. 4th in the league in total offense. Those are the facts.
Are we hiring an assistant HC? No. We need, and are hiring, an OC. Saying an assistant HC > than an OC is stupid. How many times have you seen HC that suck, but are good coordinators. I would think, by your math that HC>than assistant HC>OC. Not relevent though here, is it? If Sparano was so good at calling the plays, he would not have replaced him w/Garrett regardless, would he? 4th in the league is impressive. Yet, it was 1 year, with Sparano AND Haley calling plays. Also, if it was so impressive, again, he would not have been replaced. Those are the facts.
I will never blame Sparano, he is on-the-job training as an OC. It's not his fault he was named OC. This is on MT and Rex. I can see this sinking one or both of them in 2 years.
Yes it is relevant. Just like we elevated Westhoff to assistant head coach in charge of special teams to keep him from going to be ST coach somewhere else, Parcells most likely elevated Sparano to AHC in charge of offense to keep him from leaving to become an OC somewhere else. The name is semantics. The fact is that he made the playcalls in Dallas during the 2006 season and did it well. Sparano was Haley's boss plain and simple. If he wanted a pass, then he consulted him. But it was Sparano's offense.
