When we win the Super Bowl it will make it that much more satisfying. Rubbing it into all the non-believers and their jealous criticism. One day we will be able to rejoice and laugh at all those assholes.
Best post on the board for the entire week! Guys, relax and realize its football. They screwed up this year, but next year they'll be right back.
Great post Hitta! Something else to lighten the mood (starts at 1 minute) NSFW: http://www.onionsportsnetwork.com/articles/aaron-rodgers-vows-to-make-season-interesting-by-k,26844/
Nice video. Our offense needs work this offseason but don't forget our defense isn't the same either. It's a "good" defense and not "great" anymore. Can you imagine our wr corps of last year with our 09 defense? Could have, should have, would have but hey that's just how football is. Just need to draft smart and get lucky with late picks.
Although I don't think Sanchez is the long term answer in NY, it's nice to see a Jets fan point out the obvious change in the defenses play. They may have led the league in turnovers and points off turnovers they also gave up 30+ points in 8 games and played poorly down the stretch.
They don't need to restock six positions to compete. As fans, we'd like to see that because it's maddening to see weaknesses exploited, but every team in the league has holes. Shit, the best teams in the league have glaring weaknesses. If Tanny can address our most prominent needs (RT, ROLB, and S) with significant acquisitions, that will go a long way toward making us competitive again.
on a random note, once the dolphins game got outta hand, i know i can't be the only one hoping houston didn't convert that 2 point conversion when they tried to win the game against the titans. i swear, had the titans lost along with everyone else that needed to lose losing and the jets didn't win i would be furious. here's to 2012 being a bounce back year.
Yeah the Steelers went 8-8 after they put the offense on Roethlisberger's shoulders and he wasn't ready to handle the load. He threw 18 TD passes that year and had 23 interceptions. He had 5 more fumbles lost. He got Bill Cowher fired (resigned because that's how the Steelers do things). Get rid of the guy!
Good comp. Another one is the Falcons. They had a great run in Smith's first year, then took a step back and finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs. They regrouped and filled some glaring holes and have made the playoffs 2 consec years.
I agree but our D is still good we just need to add some younger talent to go along with what we got. A Safety with speed who can cover, an ILB for the aging mad backer and a pass rusher or two for once. I think where only a few upgrades away from being back to being a force of fucking rebels.
Great thread. There is a lot of drama in most of the threads around here and hopefully it dies down soon and we can discuss things a bit more rationally.
This was just great to watch, makes me miss Braylon. Fuck all the non believers of this team and Mark Sanchez. I think if Braylon is healthy they could do big things again. If not I think we should look for another big target in the draft like Alshon Jeffery or Michael Floyd. I think they can make Sanchez look great as a #2 WR. If not get a RT to sure up the line. When the offense is on and we can stop the run this team is wonderful. We need that spark back, we WILL have it next season. The only thing that sucks is we have to wait so long.
Hard to disagree with the OP on this one. I think with an offseason with a few moves and tweaks will be in the playoffs next year for sure. Super Bowl? Less sure of that, but if the offensive line can improve and Sanchez has some better deep threats for receivers that will go a long way.
I have heard this exact same gobbly gook for 43 years now come 01/13/69. What you posted is the EXACT same BS that has been heard on radio, in the newspapers, on TV. on the internet when the internet came into being, in sports magazine etc, etc, etc for those 43 years. So please put a sock on it as all it is media BS put out by the NYJs to deflect attention of all that is wrong with this team. That means from the FO to HC to the coaches to the players.
