you can't fix inaccuracy. He is incredibly inaccurate, like every other throw almost! No feel on deep balls either. When is the last deep pass he connected on? They need to deport his ass...
Not really. The only extensive action outside of the NE game came against the Lions. Flynn played two and half quarters and looked mediocre at best. The Pack put up 3 points on the scoreboard that day in a game they needed to win.
No matter who we have back there at QB, he's going to need weapons. I keep asking people this and I'm not getting any answers - name me a single good QB in this league that doesn't have a good receiving corps. Now with that answer in mind(none), why do we expect our QB to perform with anything less? There's like some kind of avoidance with this question, people are clouded by their inability to think rationally. If you don't have a good receiving corps(or least a top flight receiver), then why do you expect to have a good/great QB, if not a single QB in the league is pulling this off? We don't even have a good running game or a pass blocking offensive line to hide the fact that our receivers suck. We have a 34 year old prison inmate with a damn bullet in his leg as our #2, and an inconsistent, can't get open, can't get separation, quits on his team CANCER posing as our #1. What is the true potential of this offense? It certainly isn't explosive plays and the epitome of consistency. If we get rid of Sanchez, then we're still going to need to revamp this receiving corps. I think we should draft a WR in the first round, bump Santonio down to slot(where his SUCK would be more acceptable), and bring in Terrell Owens or try to sign another receiver in FA. Colston looks like he's coming on the market, and who knows what's going to happen with DJax.
His throwing motion is all out of whack right now and fixing it would improve his accuracy, more importantly his consistency with his accuracy. He honestly hasn't thrown many deep balls at all this season.
Cassel had a full season of starting before KC acquired him. Stick to your Rob Johnson comparison. ------------------ A list of QBs who did not make many or any starts for their first team and then had success with a different team- Jeff Blake, Jets-Bengals (had two quality seasons with Bengals) Aaron Brooks, Packers-Saints (led Saints to first playoff win) Mark Brunell, Packers-Jaguars Marc Bulger, Saints-Rams Len Dawson, Steelers-Browns-Texans Jake Delhomme, Saints-Panthers Brett Favre, Falcons-Packers Matt Hasselbeck, Packers-Seahawks Ron Jaworski, Rams-Eagles Daryle Lamonica, Bills-Raiders Matt Schaub, Falcons-Texans
1. If Santonio needs to be in the slot, then Jets had better move him. Kerley fits that place better and Jets do need a quality #2. I still think Jets signed wrong WR last summer - Braylon and Cotchery outside with Kerley (or Santonio) in the slot was a lot better (at least on paper) than whatever Jets mustered up. 2. The FO kept playing musical chair with WRs for 3rd year in a row, and that stunted Sanchez's performance in general. On top of that, Schottenheimer's schemes suck to no end. Then people had the nerve to say Sanchez needs to be released, with these disaster still in sight. Go fucking figure. 3. Colston, I'd be wary of. He will command huge money and then he had the luxury of playing for New Orleans. DJax, I will not touch him before moving Santonio. If Jets do move Santonio, they are in the market for #1 AND #2. That's a no-no in my book. 4. I would have to say though, if at all, Jets should see if they can make a starter material out of Patrick Turner - he looked promising enough to me. That's how Colston was found, so don't scoff at the idea either. Jets do need a tall, physical WR that can go down the field so if he turns out to be that threat, then this will mean one less FA WR to sign. 5. The OL situation is more pressing in terms of FA need - or that's how I see it. RT need is immediate, and LG needs upgrade in terms of talent. Even though Moore's play has regressed, he can stay for another year or two, provided he can have full off-season workouts and training; it just means his replacement must come through the draft. I guess RT is a huge pressing need. Replacement for LG and RG should come through the draft, especially if Vlad DuCasse does turn out to be a bust. *From what I could see so far, Vlad is but a back up material at best.* 6. RB situation is not looking too good either, but I am against FA RB signing. Jets should make a rule to draft an RB with either of 6/7th round pick each year, unless they have 3 capable backs that can carry the load upon short notice.
Obviously you are very obtuse if you didn't see through this joke. I wanted to tell these Matt Flynn bandwagoners to watch and learn something from KC fiasco.
What really is the point of all this? Its not like we will get him, Sanchez is not going anywhere...Who is even hoping to get Sanchez in a trade? It just doesnt make sense and is not worth the gamble Although, I would not be surprised with the Redskins asking us to trade Sanchez to them lol
I understood your joke. Problem was it wasn't any good. As I stated yesterday for every Rob Johnson or Scott Mitchell that someone throws at me, I will mention a guy like Len Dawson or Matt Hasselbeck or Daryle Lamonica. The "Matt Flynn bandwagoners" have a 50/50 shot of being correct. He will either become a worthy starter or will be a bust. Flynn has nothing to do with Cassel. He is not a clone of Cassel.
Yeah, Flynn is intriguing, maybe worth picking up if he becomes available in free agency, but I think it's a stretch to say a team like the Jets, with a lot already invested in a young quarterback, and many holes in the roster to fill, should sacrifice a draft pick (picks?) to acquire an unproven, untested QB.
I believe the Jets should pass on Flynn and pursue a cheaper and more proven QB to be a backup to Sanchez in 2012. I have suggested Jason Campbell ever since the Raiders got Carson Palmer. Good chance either the Browns or Redskins will take Robert Griffin III. Flynn could wind up in Miami or Cleveland or Washington. I am not sure Campbell will be able to get a starting job next season. It would be a smart play on his part to sign a 1 or 2 year deal with a team that has playoff hopes and a shaky starting QB. The Jets look like an ideal team for that.
I am all in with this retarded thread. We should make a push for Flynnkolbshaubmoorekitnalucas immediately, a soon as he gets done polishing the shoes of the guy starting in front of him. This thread sucks beetle dick.
I will only take Matt Flynn if he is coming with all the weapons that Green Bay has. Other than that, he will just be like the LSU QB who went in the 7th round for us. We need a system. Put Sanchez on that Green Bay team and he will pass close to 5000 yds easily and almost 40 TDs.
2 yards at a time? The Jets had 2 plays ALL FUCKIN YEAR that went for over 40 yards. Do you really think Schitty only called two downfield passes all year or do you think Asswipe audibled out of most of them and threw picks and incompletions for the rest? Sanchez will never be an elite NFL QB.
